Piping Design Engineer – SP3D

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Piping Design Engineer – SP3D with strong hands-on experience in 3D piping modeling and detailed engineering for Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery, Chemical, and Water Supply EPC projects.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop 3D piping models using SP3D as per P&IDs;, project specifications and engineering requirements.
- Work on different SP3D versions, administration, database and server management activities.
- Develop process and utility piping routes based on P&IDs; and project requirements.
- Model piping around equipment, including nozzle connections and accessibility requirements.
- Prepare and review Piping GA drawings, piping layouts, isometrics and MTOs.
- Develop smart connections between the SP3D model and P&ID;.
- Perform piping interference/clash checks and resolve modeling conflicts.
- Prepare piping tie-in details, plot plans and maintenance layouts.
- Develop Nozzle Orientation Drawings and Pipe Support Drawings.
- Perform material take-offs, including critical items such as valves, fittings and piping special components.
- Develop and review Piping Material Specifications (PMS) for CS, LTCS, SS, DSS, Alloy, Cladded/Lined and non-metallic piping.
- Prepare/review Valve Datasheets, SP Item Datasheets and piping specifications.
- Perform piping engineering calculations such as:
- Pipe wall thickness
- Branch reinforcement
- Bolt length




- Other piping-related calculations
- Apply pipe support and piping flexibility concepts during routing and modeling.
- Coordinate with Process, Piping Stress, Mechanical, Civil/Structural and Instrumentation teams.
- Route and model stress-critical piping in coordination with the Piping Stress team.
- Provide P&ID; design support and ensure consistency between P&IDs; and the 3D model.
- Ensure all piping deliverables comply with project standards, specifications, safety and quality requirements.

Required Skills
- Strong hands-on experience in SP3D Piping Design & Modeling.
- Positive knowledge of SP3D Administration / Project Setup / Database / Server Management.
- Strong understanding of P&IDs;, piping layouts, isometrics, GA drawings and MTO.
- Knowledge of Piping Material Specifications and piping components.
- Understanding of piping supports, flexibility and stress-critical lines.
- Experience in clash detection and model review.
- Good knowledge of equipment piping and nozzle orientation.
- Experience in Oil & Gas / Petrochemical EPC projects.
- Good communication and multidisciplinary coordination skills.

Qualification Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

Preferred Experience: 5+ years in Piping Design with significant hands-on SP3D experience.
