Position: Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) – Chemistry

Department: Senior School / Science Department

Job Purpose The PGT Chemistry will be responsible for teaching Chemistry to senior secondary students (Classes XI–XII), preparing students for CBSE board examinations and competitive examinations where applicable, and fostering a robust conceptual understanding of Chemistry through effective classroom teaching, laboratory work, and academic mentoring.

Key Responsibilities

1. Teaching & Learning

- Plan and deliver engaging, concept-based Chemistry lessons for Classes XI and XII.
- Follow the CBSE curriculum, school academic plan, and prescribed textbooks.
- Explain complex Chemistry concepts through practical examples, demonstrations, experiments, and appropriate teaching aids.
- Develop students' analytical, numerical, problem-solving, and scientific reasoning skills.
- Differentiate teaching strategies according to students' learning levels and requirements.

1. Academic Planning & Assessment

- Prepare lesson plans, worksheets, assignments, question papers, quizzes, and revision material.
- Conduct regular tests and assessments and maintain accurate academic records.
- Analyse student performance and implement remedial and enrichment measures.
- Prepare students systematically for CBSE Board examinations.
- Provide regular academic feedback to students and parents.

1. Laboratory & Practical Work

- Conduct Chemistry practical classes in accordance with the prescribed curriculum.
- Ensure proper use, handling, storage,



and maintenance of laboratory equipment and chemicals.
- Maintain laboratory safety standards and ensure students follow safety procedures.
- Guide students in practical records, investigatory projects, experiments, and viva preparation.

1. Student Development & Mentoring

- Act as an academic mentor and provide guidance on subject selection, higher education, and career opportunities in Chemistry and related fields.
- Encourage scientific curiosity, independent learning, and participation in academic competitions and Olympiads.
- Identify students requiring additional academic support and provide appropriate guidance.
- Maintain a positive, disciplined, and inclusive classroom environment.

1. School Responsibilities

- Participate actively in staff meetings, workshops, training programmes, examinations, and school events.
- Collaborate with other teachers and the Science Department for academic planning and interdisciplinary activities.
- Maintain proper documentation of lesson plans, assessments, practical records, and student progress.
- Follow all school policies, academic procedures, child-safeguarding requirements, and professional standards.
- Undertake additional academic or co-curricular responsibilities assigned by the school authorities.

Qualifications & Experience




- Master's Degree in Chemistry from a recognised university.
- B.Ed. or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Minimum 3–5 years of teaching experience at Senior Secondary level preferred.
- Experience in a CBSE school will be an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of the CBSE Chemistry curriculum for Classes XI–XII.
- Experience in preparing students for CBSE Board examinations and competitive examinations such as JEE/NEET will be an added advantage.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
