Role Description The Perfusionist is a full-time, on-site role based at Apex Heart Hospital in Theni. The Perfusionist will operate and manage cardiopulmonary bypass machines and related equipment during cardiac surgery and other procedures requiring circulatory or respiratory support.

Responsibilities include monitoring patient physiology, adjusting perfusion parameters, and ensuring protected and effective oxygenation and blood flow throughout surgical procedures. The role involves collaborating closely with cardiac surgeons, anesthesiologists, and operating room teams to plan and execute perfusion strategies, maintain equipment, and follow all safety, infection control,



and documentation standards. The Perfusionist also participates in emergency support procedures, contributes to quality improvement initiatives, and stays current with best practices in perfusion and cardiovascular medicine.

Qualifications

- Demonstrated expertise in Perfusion and Cardiopulmonary support, including operation of heart-lung machines and related equipment.
- Strong foundation in Medicine and Cardiac Surgery principles to effectively support complex cardiovascular procedures.
- Knowledge of Surgery protocols and operating room practices, with the ability to work efficiently in a high-acuity surgical environment.
- Relevant perfusion certification or licensure, and a degree in Perfusion Technology, Cardiovascular Technology, or a related medical field.
- Attention to detail, strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills, and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate respectfully with multidisciplinary clinical teams.
- Commitment to patient safety, adherence to clinical guidelines, and willingness to participate in ongoing training and professional development.
