Role Description The Owner role is a full-time, on-site position based in the Greater Chennai Area, responsible for overall leadership, strategic direction, and operational oversight of local university-related initiatives or affiliated operations. The individual in this role will define and execute long-term plans, manage budgets and resources, and ensure alignment with Osaka Metropolitan University’s mission, academic standards, and research objectives.

Daily responsibilities include supervising key functional areas, establishing and monitoring performance goals, fostering partnerships with educational, research, and industry stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with relevant policies and regulations. The role involves guiding teams,



making data-informed decisions, and promoting an inclusive and high-performing culture that supports teaching, research, and community outreach. The Owner will also represent the organization in high-level meetings, cultivate stakeholder relationships, and identify opportunities for growth and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

- Strong leadership, organizational, and strategic planning skills, with experience overseeing complex operations or academic-related entities.
- Proficiency in financial management, budgeting, and resource allocation to ensure sustainable growth and effective use of funds.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities, including experience collaborating with academic, industry, and community partners.
- Demonstrated experience in governance, policy implementation, and compliance with institutional, legal, and regulatory frameworks.
- Background in higher education administration, research management, or a related field is highly beneficial.
- Ability to work on-site in the Greater Chennai Area and coordinate effectively across international and cross-cultural contexts.
- Advanced degree in management, public administration, education, or a related discipline preferred; equivalent experience considered.
