Role Description This is a full time, on-site Optometrist & Senior Optometrist role based in Chennai. The role involves conducting comprehensive eye examinations, including refraction, binocular vision assessment, and contact lens evaluations, using appropriate diagnostic equipment and techniques.
Optometrists will prescribe lenses and contact lenses, advise customers on suitable frame and lens options, and ensure accurate measurements and fittings. They will maintain detailed clinical records, support patient education on eye health and safety, and collaborate with store teams to deliver a high-quality, customer-focused experience.
Senior
Optometrists will additionally mentor junior optometrists, contribute to clinical quality assurance,
and support training initiatives and store-level process improvements.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong clinical optometry skills, including refraction, visual acuity assessment, binocular vision evaluation, and contact lens fitting.
- Candidates should possess skills in patient consultation, customer service, and clear communication to explain diagnoses, prescriptions, and product options.
- Candidates should possess skills in using diagnostic instruments and tools (e.g., slit lamp, autorefractor, lensometer) and maintaining accurate clinical documentation.
- Candidates should possess skills in teamwork, time management, and problem-solving to work effectively in a retail eye care environment.
- Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Optometry from a recognized institution and valid registration as required by local regulations.
- Candidates should possess the ability to work flexible retail hours, a strong customer-centric approach, and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Experience in a retail optical or clinical eye care setting is beneficial; prior supervisory or mentoring experience is a plus for the Senior Optometrist role.
