Company Description Dr. Shroff’s Charity Eye Hospital (SCEH), founded in 1926 by Dr. Sorabji P. Shroff, is one of North India’s largest tertiary eye care institutes and a trusted name in ophthalmology for nearly a century.

With a core belief that sight is a human right, SCEH ensures that at least half of all surgeries are non-paying or highly subsidized, offering equal dignity and care to every patient. The hospital’s network spans Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Uttarakhand, with 7 Surgical Centres and more than 100 Vision Centres that have served over 14 million patients in the last decade. SCEH provides a comprehensive range of services, including cataract, cornea and eye bank, glaucoma, vitreo-retina, pediatric ophthalmology, ocular oncology, vision rehabilitation, public health, and education and training.

Role Description This is a full-time, in office Optical Fitter role based at Dr. Shroff’s Charity Eye Hospital in Delhi, India.

The Optical

Fitter will interpret ophthalmic prescriptions, advise patients on suitable frames and lenses, and ensure accurate fitting, adjustment, and alignment of spectacles and other optical devices.

Responsibilities include taking precise facial and ocular measurements, verifying lens specifications,



and performing quality checks on finished eyewear before delivery to patients. The role involves providing clear guidance on lens care and frame maintenance, supporting clinic flow by coordinating with ophthalmologists and optometrists, and maintaining organized inventory of frames, lenses, and optical accessories.

The Optical

Fitter is expected to uphold patient-centered service standards, follow hospital protocols, and contribute to SCEH’s mission of accessible, high-quality eye care.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess skills in interpreting optical prescriptions, taking accurate measurements (PD, fitting heights), and fitting and adjusting frames and lenses.
- Candidates should possess skills in patient counseling on lens options (single vision, bifocal, progressive, special lenses), frame selection, and safe use and care of optical devices.
- Candidates should possess skills in basic optical calculations, lens verification using tools such as lens meters, and performing quality checks on finished spectacles.
- Candidates should possess skills in inventory handling of frames and lenses, maintaining records, and coordinating with suppliers and internal teams.
- Candidates should possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work respectfully with patients from diverse backgrounds and collaborate with clinical staff.
