Role: Odoo Developer
Location: Mahadevapura, Whitefield, Bangalore
Work Mode: Full-time • On-site • 6 days/week • 9:30 AM6:30 PM
Experience: 1 - 3 years The role, in one line:
You'll keep WaterScience's entire operation inventory, sales, purchasing, accounting, and CRM running smoothly on Odoo, and help us build out new features as we scale.
Why this role matters:
WaterScience runs on Odoo. You're the person who keeps that system solid today and shapes what it becomes tomorrow whether that's fixing a bug, building an integration, or automating something that used to take an hour of manual work.
What you'll do:
Keep Systems Running & Supported
- Configure Odoo modules (Inventory, Accounting, Sales, Purchase, CRM, and Manufacturing) to match our actual operational flows.
- Set up master data, workflows, approval chains, and access permissions across modules.
- Act as the primary point of contact when issues arise — debug errors, fix data discrepancies, and resolve user queries quickly.
- Monitor system performance and address recurring friction points before they scale.
Customization & Development
- Build custom Odoo modules, fields, views, and workflows using Python and XML.
- Tailor Odoo to handle processes unique to us — such as D2C order flows, quick-commerce reconciliations, and multi-warehouse inventory management.
- Build custom reports using QWeb, Odoo Studio, or native reporting tools.
- Write clean, well-documented code using Git for version control.
Integrations & Automation
- Build and maintain integrations between Odoo and external tools like Shopify, marketplaces, payment gateways, and CRM/support platforms.
- Use REST APIs and webhooks to keep data synced across systems in real time.
- Identify repetitive manual tasks across teams and automate them directly inside Odoo.
Team Enablement & Collaboration
- Onboard new team members onto Odoo with clear, hands-on guidance.
- Maintain clean internal documentation,
user guides, and SOPs.
- Gather feedback from functional heads (Finance, Supply Chain, Sales) and convert business needs into practical system improvements.
What you'll need:
- 1 - 3 years of hands-on experience developing and customizing Odoo.
- Strong working knowledge of Python, XML, and PostgreSQL/SQL (schema design and query writing).
- Practical experience customizing core modules (Inventory, Sales, Purchase, Accounting, CRM).
- Hands-on experience building or maintaining REST API integrations and third-party webhooks.
- Proven problem-solving and debugging skills in a live environment.
- Comfortable working on-site in Mahadevapura, 6 days a week (9:30 AM – 6:30 PM).
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into simple language for non-technical users.
Nice to have:
- Understanding of core D2C/e-commerce workflows (order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, inventory valuation).
- Prior experience with Shopify–Odoo integrations or Shopify app development.
- Exposure to frontend stack (JavaScript, OWL framework) or Odoo tools (QWeb, Odoo Studio, server actions).
- Background in an e-commerce, D2C, or manufacturing setting.
What you'll get:
- Own ERP implementations and improvements directly in a fast-scaling live workplace.
- Work closely with cross-functional leaders across finance, supply chain, and operations.
- A hands-on, high-ownership role where your code directly affects everyday operations.
