Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Moodle Developer to design, build, and maintain our e-learning platform. In this role, you will be responsible for customizing the Moodle architecture, developing custom plugins, and integrating third-party systems. You will collaborate with instructional designers and IT teams to deliver a seamless, scalable, and secure learning experience.

Key Responsibilities

? Platform Development & Customization

- Design and customize Moodle themes, user interfaces (UI), and user experiences (UX).
- Develop and modify custom Moodle plugins, blocks, and core code using PHP.
- Configure and optimize Moodle features, modules, and database structures.

? System Integration & Security

- Integrate Moodle with external systems like HR software, CRMs, and Student Information Systems (SIS).
- Implement and maintain single sign-on (SSO) protocols (e.g., OAuth, SAML, LDAP).
- Ensure data security, privacy compliance (such as GDPR or FERPA), and proper access controls.

⚙️ Maintenance & Performance

- Perform regular upgrades, security patches, and backups of the Moodle environment.
- Troubleshoot and fix bugs, server errors, and performance bottlenecks.
- Optimize the platform for speed, scalability,



and mobile responsiveness.

Required Skills & Qualifications

? Technical Skills

- Languages: High proficiency in PHP, JavaScript (including AJAX/jQuery), HTML5, and CSS3/SASS.
- Database Management: Strong experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MariaDB.
- Moodle Architecture: Deep understanding of Moodle API, theme engines, forms API, and database abstraction layer.
- Web Services: Experience working with RESTful APIs, SOAP, and JSON.
- Version Control: Proficiency with Git or similar version control tools.

? Experience & Education

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Experience: 2–5 years of dedicated experience developing and managing Moodle environments.
- E-learning Standards: Familiarity with SCORM, xAPI (Tin Can), LTI, and AICC standards.

? Soft Skills

- Robust problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills to translate non-technical feedback into technical requirements.
- Ability to work independently and manage project timelines effectively.
