About the RoleAuxein Medical is looking for a skilled and motivated Mid-Level Design Engineer to join our product development team. The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, improving, and documenting medical devices and surgical/orthopedic instruments, with a strong focus on precision, manufacturability, quality, and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and develop surgical instruments, orthopedic instruments, and medical devices using 3D CAD software.
- Create detailed 3D models, 2D manufacturing drawings, assemblies, and BOMs.
- Develop designs considering DFM/DFA, tolerances, ergonomics, functionality, and manufacturability.
- Work closely with manufacturing, quality, suppliers, and R&D; teams for product development and improvements.
- Review and optimize existing instrument designs for performance, usability, cost, and manufacturability.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, design specifications, drawings, and design records.
- Support prototype development, testing, validation, and design verification activities.
- Understand and apply medical-grade materials, including SS 316L, titanium, and other suitable materials.
- Coordinate with vendors for CNC machining, forging, finishing, and other manufacturing processes.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable medical-device quality requirements and design controls.
- Contribute to innovative product concepts and continuous improvement initiatives.





Required Skills & Qualifications
- B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- 3–6 years of experience in medical device, surgical instrument, orthopedic instrument, or precision engineering design.
- Strong proficiency in SolidWorks or equivalent 3D CAD software.
- Good knowledge of 2D engineering drawings, GD&T;, tolerances, and drawing standards.
- Strong understanding of DFM/DFA and design for manufacturing.
- Experience with surgical/orthopedic instrument design will be highly preferred.
- Aware about CNC machining, forging, sheet metal, finishing, and manufacturing processes.
- Understanding of medical-grade materials such as SS 316L and Titanium.
- Working knowledge of ISO 13485:2016, design controls, and medical-device documentation.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.

Preferred CandidateThe ideal candidate should have:
- Hands-on experience in medical/surgical instrument product development.
- Good understanding of precision mechanisms and instrument functionality.
- Ability to independently take a product from concept → 3D design → drawing → prototype → manufacturing.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
- A proactive approach toward innovation and design improvement.
