– Mechanical Quality Engineer
Key Responsibilities
- Implement, maintain, and continuously improve the ISO 9001 Quality Management System and coordinate with certification agencies for successful ISO certification and surveillance audits.
- Develop, review, and maintain Quality Assurance Plans (QAP), Inspection & Test Plans (ITP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and quality documentation.
- Ensure compliance with customer specifications, drawings, RDSO/Indian Railways standards, and applicable national/international standards.
- Conduct incoming, in-process, and final inspections of manufactured products.
- Monitor manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for quality improvement.
- Investigate quality issues, perform root cause analysis (RCA), and implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Coordinate with production, design, purchase, and suppliers to resolve quality-related issues.
- Ensure proper implementation of welding procedures and monitor welding quality as per applicable standards.
- Maintain calibration records of measuring and testing equipment.
- Conduct internal quality audits and support external customer and certification audits.
- Monitor supplier quality performance and participate in vendor development activities.
- Prepare quality reports, inspection records, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and management review inputs.
- Promote quality awareness and continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety and quality standards.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management System implementation and certification process.
- Experience in manufacturing components for Indian Railways or railway rolling stock industry.
- Valuable knowledge of welding processes, welding inspection, and fabrication quality control.
- Familiarity with engineering drawings, GD&T;, dimensional inspection, and mechanical measuring instruments.
- Knowledge of quality tools such as 7 QC Tools, Root Cause Analysis, 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram, CAPA, and PDCA.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- High attention to detail with a proactive and quality-focused approach.
- Ability to work independently as well as in cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and preparation of technical reports.
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
Experience
- Bachelor's Degree: 3–4 years of relevant experience as a Mechanical Quality Engineer.
- Diploma: 5–6 years of relevant experience as a Mechanical Quality Engineer.
- Experience in the Indian Railways, RDSO-approved vendors, coach, wagon, locomotive, bogie, brake systems, fabrication, or railway component manufacturing industry will be preferred.
Location: - Lucknow Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
