Job Summary

Position Overview. The Manager - Taxes is responsible for leading Blue Dart's direct and indirect taxation function, ensuring full compliance with applicable tax laws while optimizing tax processes, governance, and risk management. The role oversees all tax reporting, statutory compliance, tax provisioning, litigation support, audits, and regulatory engagements across the organization.

Operating within a complex multi-location logistics and aviation-enabled business setting, the incumbent partners closely with Finance, Business, Legal, Treasury, Internal Audit, external consultants, statutory authorities, and auditors to ensure accurate tax positions, timely statutory filings, and effective tax risk management. The role also drives tax automation, digital compliance initiatives, ERP governance, AI-enabled analytics, and continuous process improvements aligned with DHL Group standards and listed company requirements.

Location: Head Office.

Reports To: Head - Record to Report.

Function: Finance.

Travel Required: 25%, 50%, 75%.

Job Purpose. To lead and manage the organizations direct and indirect tax function by ensuring statutory compliance, minimizing tax risks, strengthening governance, supporting business decisions through tax advisory, and driving digital transformation of tax processes.

Key Responsibilities

- Tax Strategy Governance. Lead the overall direct and indirect tax function for the organization. Develop and implement tax governance frameworks aligned with statutory requirements and DHL Group policies. Ensure compliance with Income Tax Act, GST Act, Customs regulations, and other applicable tax laws. Monitor regulatory changes and assess their business impact. Advise senior management on tax implications of strategic business decisions.

- Direct Indirect Tax Compliance. Oversee timely filing of GST, TDS, Income Tax, Advance Tax, Tax Audit,



Transfer Pricing and other statutory returns. Review tax computations, provisions, deferred tax calculations, and disclosures. Ensure accurate tax accounting and statutory compliance across all business locations. Review complex tax transactions and provide guidance to finance teams.

- Tax Reporting Financial Closures. Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual tax provisioning activities. Ensure accurate tax balances within financial statements. Review tax reconciliations between ERP, General Ledger, and statutory returns. Support financial close processes by ensuring tax accuracy.

- Tax Audit, Assessments Litigation. Lead tax assessments, departmental audits, GST audits, and income tax proceedings. Manage responses to tax notices and regulatory inquiries. Coordinate with external consultants and legal advisors on tax litigation. Develop strategies for timely closure of tax disputes while minimizing financial exposure.

- Risk Management Internal Controls. Strengthen internal financial controls related to taxation. Identify emerging tax risks and implement mitigation measures. Ensure audit readiness through complete documentation and compliance records.

Support Internal

Audit, IFC testing, and SOX (where applicable).

- ERP, Automation Digital Transformation. Lead tax-related ERP configurations and system enhancements. Drive automation of tax reconciliations, compliance reporting, and dashboards. Promote AI-enabled tax analytics for anomaly detection and compliance monitoring.



Improve tax processes through digital transformation initiatives.

- Stakeholder Management. Partner with Business Finance, R2R, AP, AR, Treasury, Legal, Procurement, and Operations on taxation matters. Act as the primary liaison with tax authorities, statutory auditors, and external consultants. Provide proactive tax advisory to business leadership on new initiatives and commercial transactions.

- People Leadership. Lead, coach, and develop the Tax team. Allocate work, monitor performance, and build functional capability. Foster a culture of compliance, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Drive employee development and succession planning within the taxation function.

Qualifications

- Experience. Education.

Chartered

Accountant (Mandatory).

- Experience. 10+ years of progressive experience in direct and indirect taxation.

Experience in listed companies or large multi-location organizations. Strong exposure to GST, Corporate Tax, TDS, Transfer Pricing, Tax Audits, and Litigation.

- Experience working with ERP platforms (SAP/Oracle or equivalent).

- Exposure to tax technology, automation, and digital compliance solutions.
