Position Summary

We are seeking a Load Testing Engineer to help design, build, and execute enterprise-scale performance and scalability testing for guest-facing and operational applications. This role will partner closely with architecture, engineering, infrastructure, and product teams to ensure systems can reliably handle peak business demand.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and develop load, stress, soak, and scalability test suites for web applications, APIs, and backend services using k6 and Speedscale toolsets.
- Build realistic performance tests that accurately mirror production and operational traffic patterns.
- Analyze application, infrastructure, and database performance to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement using Dynatrace.
- Create and maintain automated performance testing assets that can be executed repeatedly across environments.
- Document test results, performance baselines, findings, and recommendations for stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

- 3+ years of experience in performance and load testing.




- Experience building load testing suites that simulate realistic operational and customer traffic.
- Strong understanding of APIs, JSON payloads, and distributed application architectures.
- Experience using monitoring and observability platforms such as Dynatrace.
- Hands-on experience with k6 for performance test development and execution.
- Robust analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify and isolate performance bottlenecks.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with Speedscale, including traffic capture and replay capabilities.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Microsoft Copilot to accelerate test creation and maintenance.
- Familiarity with cloud-native and containerized environments (Kubernetes/OpenShift).
- Experience validating performance across APIs, databases, and integrated enterprise systems.

Location Preference

- Mexico or LATAM-based resources preferred to support close daily collaboration with Vail Resorts technical teams.
