About the Role

We are looking for a Lighting Designer with a strong Electrical Engineering background who can handle lighting design, technical drawings, AutoCAD drafting, and basic home/building automation requirements.

The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of electrical systems, lighting concepts, electrical layouts, automation, and technical drawings, along with the ability to coordinate with architects, interior designers, clients, and execution teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare detailed lighting layouts and lighting design concepts as per project requirements.
- Create and modify AutoCAD drawings, including lighting layouts, electrical layouts, switching layouts, and detailed technical drawings.
- Develop lighting plans based on architectural and interior design drawings.
- Understand client requirements and translate them into practical lighting solutions.
- Coordinate with architects, interior designers, electrical consultants, and project execution teams.
- Prepare lighting schedules, fixture details, circuiting and load-related information.
- Assist in designing and integrating lighting automation and home automation systems.
- Understand automation requirements such as dimming, scene control, sensor-based lighting, smart switches and centralized control.
- Review site conditions and coordinate with site teams for accurate implementation of drawings.
- Conduct site visits for measurements, technical discussions, and design verification.
- Make necessary revisions to drawings based on site conditions and client/consultant feedback.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for lighting fixture specifications and technical details.
- Ensure drawings and designs are technically accurate and aligned with project requirements.





Required Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of AutoCAD 2D drafting.
- Good understanding of lighting design principles and lighting fixtures.
- Knowledge of electrical drawings, wiring, load calculations and electrical layouts.
- Understanding of lighting control and automation systems.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, interior and electrical drawings.
- Knowledge of electrical standards and basic safety practices.
- Proficiency in MS Office and ability to prepare technical documentation.
- Knowledge of Dialux / Relux / SketchUp will be an added advantage.
- Exposure to KNX, Control4, DALI or other automation systems will be preferred.

Educational Qualification

Mandatory:

- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

Preferred:

- Candidates with practical experience in architectural lighting, luxury residential projects, home automation or electrical design.
