About the Role
We are looking for a passionate, qualified, and experienced Early Childhood Development Lecturer to join our academic team and deliver high-quality theoretical and practical training to students enrolled in our OTHM Level 5 Early Childhood Development programme.
The ideal candidate will have strong academic knowledge, practical experience in early childhood education, and the ability to prepare students for successful careers in preschool and early childhood settings.
Key Responsibilities
▪️Deliver engaging theoretical and practical lectures for the OTHM Level 5 Early Childhood Development programme.
▪️Prepare lesson plans, presentations, assignments, learning materials, and practical activities.
▪️Teach students about child development, early childhood learning, child psychology, play-based learning, curriculum planning, assessment, health, safety, nutrition, and child wellbeing.
▪️Provide practical guidance on preschool classroom management and age-appropriate learning activities.
Conduct student assessments, practical evaluations, assignments, and examinations.
▪️Monitor student progress and provide constructive academic feedback.
▪️Guide students in developing the knowledge, skills, and professional competencies required to work in early childhood settings.
▪️Incorporate current ECD practices, research, teaching methodologies, and real-world examples into lessons.
▪️Maintain accurate academic, attendance, and assessment records.
▪️Ensure teaching and assessment activities comply with the relevant curriculum, institutional standards, and applicable OTHM level 5 requirements.
▪️Participate in academic meetings, student activities, curriculum development, and quality-assurance initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential / Preferred
▪️Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Preschool Education, Education, Child Development, Psychology, or a relevant discipline.
▪️A relevant Diploma/Higher Diploma or professional qualification in Early Childhood Development may be considered depending on the applicable programme requirements.
▪️Previous lecturing, teaching, training, or academic experience in Early Childhood Development or a related field.
▪️Practical experience working with preschools, ECD centres, Montessori environments, children, or teacher-training programmes will be a strong advantage.
▪️Good knowledge of child growth and development, early learning, play-based education, curriculum planning, classroom management, and child assessment.
▪️Knowledge of inclusive education, child protection, health, safety, and wellbeing is an advantage.
▪️Experience with competency-based education, assessment, and OTHM level 5 programmes will be highly valued.
▪️Excellent communication, presentation, classroom-management, and interpersonal skills.
▪️Passion for teaching, mentoring, and developing future Early Childhood Education professionals.
