About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and creative Lead Interior Designer with strong expertise in residential interior projects

. The ideal candidate should be capable of independently handling projects from concept development through design execution, while leading a team of designers and coordinating with clients, vendors, contractors, and internal teams.

The candidate must have a strong understanding of residential space planning, interior design, material selection, furniture design, working drawings, 3D visualization, BOQs, and project execution

.

Key Responsibilities****1. Residential Interior Design

- Lead the complete interior design process for residential projects.
- Develop design concepts based on client requirements, lifestyle, budget, and project specifications.
- Prepare detailed space planning and interior layouts.
- Develop concepts for living rooms, bedrooms, kitchens, bathrooms, dining areas, wardrobes, and other residential spaces.
- Ensure designs are aesthetically strong, functional, practical, and aligned with project budgets.
- Maintain consistency in design language throughout the project.

2. Design Development & Documentation

- Prepare and review 2D layouts, furniture plans, ceiling plans, elevations, sections, and detailed working drawings .

- Develop detailed design documentation required for execution.
- Review drawings for accuracy, constructability, dimensions, and design intent.
- Coordinate architectural, structural, MEP, and interior requirements where applicable.
- Ensure drawings are issued within agreed timelines.

3. 3D Visualization & Presentation

- Develop high-quality 3D models, renders, mood boards, material boards, and design presentations .

- Present design concepts and proposals to clients.
- Translate client requirements into visually compelling design solutions.
- Review and approve 3D views before client presentation or execution.

4. Material & Furniture Selection

- Select appropriate materials, finishes, hardware, lighting, furniture, fixtures, and accessories.
- Develop material palettes and finish schedules.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for material availability, specifications, and pricing.
- Stay updated with current residential interior design trends, materials, and products.

Management

- Understand client requirements,



preferences, expectations, and budgets.
- Conduct design presentations and explain design concepts professionally.
- Manage design revisions and obtain client approvals.
- Maintain clear communication with clients throughout the design process.
- Handle design-related concerns and provide practical solutions.

Project

Coordination & Execution

- Coordinate closely with project managers, site teams, contractors, vendors, architects, and consultants.
- Conduct site visits to verify site conditions and design implementation.
- Ensure the executed work matches approved designs and drawings.
- Identify design and execution issues and provide timely solutions.
- Monitor quality and design standards during project execution.

7. Team Leadership

- Lead and mentor junior interior designers and design team members.
- Allocate projects and responsibilities within the design team.
- Review and approve team members' drawings and design outputs.
- Ensure design deliverables are completed accurately and on time.
- Conduct design reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain design standards and processes across projects.

8. BOQ & Cost Awareness

- Prepare or review BOQs, material schedules, specifications, and quantity requirements .

- Ensure designs remain commercially viable and within approved budgets.
- Coordinate with procurement and vendors regarding material costs and availability.
- Suggest alternative materials or design solutions where required to manage project costs.

Control

- Review all design deliverables before submission to clients or execution teams.
- Ensure accuracy of dimensions, materials, specifications, and drawings.
- Maintain high standards of design quality and detailing.
- Ensure approved designs are properly documented and communicated to the execution team.

Required Skills

- Strong expertise in Residential Interior Design .

- Excellent understanding of space planning and residential design principles.
- Solid knowledge of furniture design and detailing.
- Excellent knowledge of materials, finishes, hardware, lighting, and fixtures.





- Ability to create and interpret detailed working drawings.
- Strong understanding of residential construction and execution.
- Excellent client presentation and communication skills.

- Strong project coordination and team management skills.
- Good understanding of BOQs and project budgets.
- Strong creative and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple residential projects simultaneously.

Software Proficiency The candidate should have strong working knowledge of relevant interior design and visualization software, including:

- AutoCAD

- SketchUp
- 3ds Max / V-Ray / Corona or equivalent rendering software

- Revit – preferred

- Photoshop

- Microsoft Office / Excel
- Other relevant design and presentation tools

Required Experience & Qualification

- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field .

- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in interior design.
- Strong and demonstrable experience in residential interior projects is mandatory .

- Experience handling projects from concept to execution.
- Previous experience leading or mentoring a team of interior designers will be preferred.
- Experience working directly with residential clients is strongly preferred.
- Candidates with experience handling premium/luxury residential projects will have an added advantage.
