Summary

UST is looking for a hands-on DevOps Engineer / Platform Engineer with 5–10 years of experience in DevOps and cloud engineering. The ideal candidate will have solid expertise in AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, EKS, CI/CD, cloud networking, observability, and automation. The role involves building and operating scalable AWS infrastructure, automating deployments, and maintaining secure, reliable, and high-performing cloud-native platforms.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a hands-on DevOps Engineer to build and operate scalable AWS infrastructure, automate deployments, and maintain reliable cloud-native platforms.

The successful candidate will work closely with engineering and application teams to design, implement, and support AWS infrastructure and cloud-native platforms. The role requires strong hands-on experience in AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, EKS, CI/CD, observability, and automation, along with the ability to troubleshoot complex production issues.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

- Design, build, and maintain scalable AWS infrastructure using reusable Terraform modules.
- Build, maintain, and optimize GitLab CI/CD pipelines for automated application and infrastructure deployments.
- Operate, manage, and troubleshoot Amazon EKS clusters and Kubernetes workloads.
- Deploy and manage containerized applications using Kubernetes and Docker.
- Manage AWS networking components, including VPCs, routing, and AWS Transit Gateway.
- Implement canary and blue-green deployment strategies using Argo Rollouts.
- Manage application and infrastructure deployments using Argo CD and Helm.
- Build and maintain AWS Step Functions for workflow orchestration and automation.
- Develop Python-based scripts and automation to improve operational efficiency.
- Implement and maintain monitoring and observability using Amazon CloudWatch,



Prometheus, and Grafana.
- Manage AWS IAM roles, policies, and access controls across multi-account AWS environments.
- Improve platform security, availability, reliability, performance, and cost efficiency.
- Troubleshoot production issues and perform root-cause analysis.
- Collaborate with engineering, application, and infrastructure teams to ensure reliable delivery and operation of cloud-native platforms.
- Follow UST standards, policies, procedures, and security practices.

What you need The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in DevOps and cloud engineering, with expertise in AWS and cloud-native technologies. The candidate should be comfortable working with infrastructure automation, Kubernetes platforms, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring tools, and production environments.

Required Skills

- 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Platform Engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS and multi-account AWS environments.
- Strong experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
- Hands-on experience with Amazon EKS, Kubernetes, and Docker.
- Strong knowledge of Helm and Argo CD.
- Experience with Argo Rollouts and progressive delivery.
- Strong understanding of AWS networking, including VPCs, routing, and Transit Gateway.
- Experience with GitLab CI/CD.
- Proficiency in Python scripting and automation.
- Experience building and maintaining AWS Step Functions.
- Hands-on experience with Amazon CloudWatch, Prometheus, and Grafana.
- Good understanding of AWS IAM and cloud security.
- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
- Good communication and collaboration skills.

Desired Skills

- Platform Engineering experience.
- Experience implementing canary and blue-green deployment strategies.
- Experience with cloud security and IAM best practices.




- Experience with AWS cost optimization and platform reliability.
- Experience supporting production-grade cloud-native environments.
- Strong understanding of DevOps and CI/CD best practices.

Qualification

- B.Tech / B.E. / M.Tech or equivalent qualification.
- Experience: 5–10 years.
