Behind the scenes, all of this runs on a modern, cloud-native platform — services on AWS and Kubernetes, real-time tracking and data pipelines, and a deep observability stack — that must stay quick, reliable, and cost-efficient around the clock. That is where you come in.

About the Role

We are looking for a Junior DevOps Engineer with 1–2 years of hands-on experience to join our tech team. This is a hands-on, operations-focused role. Your day-to-day will centre on four areas: operating and authoring CI/CD and Data Pipelines, Infrastructure Monitoring and Alerting, Database Administration, and the IT and Support Workflows that keep incidents and bugs across the company moving to resolution.

Around that core, you will work across our AWS infrastructure, Kubernetes clusters, and CI/CD pipelines, helping keep the systems behind OurBus, Rally, and Charters reliable, secure, and cost-efficient. You will collaborate closely with the tech teams building in Java, .NET Core, and Flutter — with real ownership from day one.

Key Responsibilities

Primary Focus

- Author, schedule, and operate AZDO CI/CD and Apache Airflow DAGs powering data, cost-reporting, and operational pipelines — handle failures, backfills, dependencies, and performance tuning.

- Own infrastructure monitoring and alerting: Prometheus and Grafana dashboards,



OpenTelemetry instrumentation, and centralized logging on the ELK stack — including ECK (Elastic Cloud on Kubernetes) and Fluent Bit log shipping into Kibana. Triage alerts and drive them to resolution.

- Perform day-to-day database administration for MySQL and PostgreSQL — access and user management, backups and restore verification, replication and storage health, slow-query analysis — and operate the supporting Redis and Kafka infrastructure.

- Run the company's IT and support workflows for incidents and bugs: triage requests from tech and business teams, debug across application, infrastructure, and data layers, handle access and permission requests, and close the loop with RCAs, runbooks, and KT documentation.

- Participate in the on-call rotation and incident response.

Broader Platform Work

- Provision, manage, and improve AWS infrastructure (EC2, VPC, EKS, RDS, ElastiCache, S3, SQS, Lambda, IAM) using CloudFormation and Terraform.

- Maintain and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps and Jenkins for Java, .NET Core, Flutter, and Python services.

- Operate containerized workloads on Kubernetes (EKS) — Helm charts, node groups, autoscaling, upgrades, and day-to-day troubleshooting.

- Manage DNS, CDN, WAF, and caching rules via Cloudflare.

- Automate routine operations with Python and Bash; contribute to security patching, backup/DR verification, and cloud cost-optimization initiatives.

Must-Have Skills

- 1–2 years of experience in a DevOps, SRE, cloud, or platform engineering role.

- Monitoring and logging with Prometheus/Grafana and ELK/Kibana, including ECK and Fluent Bit log pipelines.





- Database administration of MySQL and PostgreSQL — backups, access management, and query troubleshooting.

- Operating Redis and Kafka in production.

- Hands-on experience with core AWS services and cloud networking fundamentals.

- Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and/or CloudFormation.

- Working knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes, including Helm chart authoring and customization.

- Experience building or maintaining CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or similar).

- Cloudflare administration and Provisioning Using Terraform (DNS, WAF, caching, rules).

- Solid scripting in Python, PowerShell and Bash; comfortable administering Linux systems.

- Exposure to Java and .NET Core build and deployment ecosystems.

- Proficient with Git-based workflows, code reviews, and working a ticket/incident queue.

Good to Have

- Certifications: AWS Associate Solutions Architect / SysOps, or CKA.

- Experience with cloud cost-reporting and optimization tooling.

- Distributed tracing / telemetry with OpenTelemetry.

- Experience with AI/ML workflows and dataflows — e.g., orchestrating training or inference pipelines.

- Python development beyond ops scripting — able to write Python-based AI/ML model integrations (working with model APIs and SDKs, and wiring inference into services and Airflow pipelines).
