Role Overview
JD Institute of Fashion Technology is looking for a full-time IT Administrator responsible for managing and maintaining the organization’s IT infrastructure, systems, hardware, software, network connectivity, and day-to-day technical support. The role will ensure smooth and secure IT operations across the campus and provide timely technical assistance to employees and students.
The ideal candidate should have strong troubleshooting skills, good knowledge of IT infrastructure, excellent coordination abilities, and a proactive approach to maintaining reliable and secure technology systems.
Key Responsibilities1. IT Infrastructure Management
- Manage and maintain computers, laptops, printers, projectors, networking equipment, and other IT assets.
- Ensure smooth functioning of IT systems across the campus.
- Monitor network connectivity, Wi-Fi, LAN, and related infrastructure.
- Coordinate installation, configuration, upgrades, and maintenance of IT equipment.
- Identify and resolve hardware and software issues promptly.
1. Technical Support
- Provide first-level technical support to employees and students.
- Troubleshoot issues related to operating systems, software, printers, internet connectivity, email, and other IT applications.
- Respond to IT support requests and ensure timely resolution.
- Maintain records of recurring technical issues and their resolutions.
1. IT Asset & Inventory Management
- Maintain an updated inventory of all IT hardware, software, accessories, and other technology assets.
- Track allocation and movement of laptops, desktops, accessories, and other IT equipment.
- Maintain records of repairs, replacements, warranties, and AMC services.
- Conduct periodic physical verification of IT assets.
1. Network & Security
- Monitor and maintain LAN, Wi-Fi, routers, switches, and other network infrastructure.
- Ensure basic IT security practices are followed across the organization.
- Manage user access, permissions, and system accounts as required.
- Coordinate with external IT/network vendors for complex technical issues.
- Ensure regular backups and support data protection processes.
1. Email & User Account Administration
- Create, manage, and deactivate official email accounts and user access as required.
- Support employees with email-related issues and access problems.
- Maintain proper documentation of user accounts and access permissions.
- Coordinate onboarding and exit-related IT access requirements.
1. Software & System Management
- Install, configure, and update approved software and applications.
- Ensure systems have required security updates and antivirus protection.
- Maintain records of software licenses and subscriptions.
- Coordinate software renewals and technical support with vendors.
1. Vendor & AMC Management
- Coordinate with IT vendors, internet service providers, and AMC/service providers.
- Track hardware and software maintenance requirements.
- Obtain quotations and coordinate repairs/replacements where required.
- Monitor vendor performance and ensure timely resolution of issues.
1. IT Support for Events & Academic Activities
- Provide technical support for seminars, workshops, presentations, examinations, and other institute events.
- Ensure projectors, audio-visual equipment, computers, internet connectivity,
and other technical requirements are ready before events.
- Provide on-site support whenever required.
1. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain IT-related records, reports, asset registers, and service logs.
- Prepare regular reports on IT issues, maintenance, assets, and pending requirements.
- Maintain documentation for AMC, warranties, licenses, and vendor contracts.
- Escalate major technical or security concerns to the reporting manager.
Skills & Competencies
- Robust troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Good knowledge of computer hardware and software
- Knowledge of LAN, Wi-Fi, networking, routers, and switches
- Basic understanding of IT security and data backup
- Good knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office/Google Workspace
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Vendor coordination and negotiation skills
- Good documentation and reporting skills
- Ability to manage multiple technical requests and priorities
- Proactive approach with strong ownership and accountability
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree/Diploma in IT, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 2–4 years of experience in IT Administration, IT Support, System Administration, or a similar role
- Experience in managing IT infrastructure in an educational institution, corporate office, or similar environment will be preferred.
