We are looking for an Implementation Specialist / Engineer who combines deep clinical trial operations experience with a strong technology and product mindset to help customers successfully implement and adopt Tilda.
Role Overview The Implementation Specialist / Engineer sits at the intersection of Clinical Operations, Clinical Project Management, Product, and Customer Implementation.
This is not a traditional software engineering or infrastructure deployment role.
We're looking for someone who understands how clinical trials actually operate and can translate customer processes and requirements into effective workflows within the Tilda platform.
You will work directly with clinical research customers to understand their study operations, identify workflow and process requirements, configure the Tilda platform, coordinate implementation activities, support testing and validation, and guide customers through successful go-live and adoption.
The ideal candidate started their career in Clinical Operations, Clinical Project Management, Site Operations, Clinical Data, or a related clinical research function and has subsequently gained experience working with clinical trial technology or SaaS products.
What You'll Do
Lead Customer Implementations
- Own customer implementations from discovery and requirements gathering through configuration, testing, go-live, and adoption.
- Lead implementation and workflow-discovery sessions with clinical research customers.
- Understand the customer's existing clinical trial processes, systems, pain points, and operational requirements.
- Develop implementation plans, workflows, milestones, dependencies, and launch criteria.
- Coordinate implementation activities across customer stakeholders and internal Tilda teams.
- Identify implementation risks and proactively drive issues toward resolution.
- Ensure customers are operationally ready to use Tilda successfully.
Translate Clinical Operations Into Technology
- Translate clinical trial workflows and business requirements into product configurations and technical requirements.
- Understand how study teams operate and determine how Tilda should support or improve those workflows.
- Partner with customers to redesign inefficient or manual processes rather than simply recreating legacy workflows.
- Document customer requirements, use cases, workflows, configuration decisions, and product gaps.
- Translate clinical requirements clearly for Tilda's Product and Engineering teams.
- Help bridge communication between clinical users and technical teams.
Configure & Validate the Tilda Platform
- Configure Tilda based on customer study and operational requirements.
- Support workflow configuration, data setup, user setup, permissions, and study-specific requirements.
- Coordinate and execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and implementation validation.
- Identify product issues, workflow gaps, and configuration problems during implementation.
- Work with Product and Engineering to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Support customers through go-live and early production adoption.
Clinical Trial Operations Expertise
- Serve as a knowledgeable resource on clinical trial operations and study workflows.
- Understand the relationships and operational responsibilities across Sponsors, CROs, Sites, Investigators, and Study Teams.
- Apply knowledge of clinical study startup, study conduct, monitoring, data collection, quality, and closeout where applicable.
- Understand the operational impact of introducing new technology into clinical research workflows.
- Help ensure implementations align with appropriate clinical research processes and GCP requirements.
Product Partnership
- Bring the voice of the customer and clinical operations perspective back to Product and Engineering.
- Identify recurring customer requirements that should become standardized product capabilities.
- Participate in discussions around workflow design and product improvements.
- Help Product teams understand the operational impact of proposed features.
- Identify opportunities where automation and AI can reduce manual clinical trial work.
- Support testing and validation of new product capabilities.
Customer Enablement & Adoption
- Train clinical and operational users on Tilda workflows.
- Conduct implementation workshops, workflow reviews, and customer training sessions.
- Develop implementation documentation and best practices.
- Support customers during their transition from legacy processes to Tilda.
- Partner with Customer Success following go-live to ensure successful adoption and value realization.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in Clinical Trial Operations, Clinical Project Management, Clinical Research, or related clinical trial functions.
- Experience working within a CRO, pharmaceutical/biotechnology company, clinical research organization, or clinical research site environment.
- Strong understanding of clinical trial operations and study lifecycle workflows.
- Experience managing clinical projects, studies, operational workstreams, or cross-functional clinical initiatives.
- Experience working with clinical trial technology, SaaS platforms, or clinical software products.
- Demonstrated ability to translate clinical/business requirements into system workflows, product requirements, or configurations.
- Experience partnering with Product, Engineering, Technology, or software implementation teams.
- Solid project-management and organizational skills.
- Strong customer-facing and stakeholder-management capabilities.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both clinical/operational stakeholders and technical/product teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a technology-oriented mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with one or more clinical technology categories such as:
- EDC / eSource
- CTMS
- eTMF
- eCOA / ePRO
- eConsent
