The Role

We're seeking a strategic HRBP to be a trusted partner to our leadership team-shaping how we build, develop, and retain talent as we scale rapidly. You'll move fluidly between long-range workforce planning and hands-on people problem-solving, influencing organization design, performance culture, and decisions that directly impact outcomes. This is a high-visibility role in a quick-moving environment where impact compounds quickly.

You'll work across our team, faculty, and student community to keep NST's people engine as sharp as its academic one.

What You'll Own

Employee Relations, Grievance & Risk Management

- Manage and resolve complex employee relations cases, balancing business needs with fairness.
- Own a confidential, trusted grievance-redressal process, and ensure adherence to labor law and internal governance frameworks to mitigate organizational risk.
- Advise leaders on sensitive people matters-conflict resolution, disciplinary action-with sound judgment.

HR Operations & Compliance

- Own onboarding, offboarding, and the performance management cycle end-to-end.
- Ensure payroll accuracy and compensation benchmarking that keeps NST competitive.
- Maintain HR policy as a living framework,



not static documentation.

Strategic Partnership, Stakeholder Management & Workforce Planning

- Own the people strategy for your assigned teams, forecasting manpower needs against NST's growth plans and ensuring capacity aligns with business goals.
- Partner closely with leadership and functional heads to diagnose organizational needs and co-create solutions that lift capability and performance.
- Build genuine relationships across the team, faculty (many ex-ISRO/Microsoft/MakeMyTrip), and students, influencing decisions through insight and business understanding.

Employee Experience, Engagement & Development

- Design engagement initiatives that keep the team genuinely connected to NST's mission, using data to guide what actually moves the needle.
- Shape a culture rooted in meritocracy, diversity, equity & inclusion across the employee lifecycle.
- Act as a change catalyst through organizational transformation.

People Analytics & Org Health

- Monitor workforce indicators-attrition, engagement, talent density, diversity, performance-and recommend targeted interventions.
- Diagnose organization design gaps and drive succession planning as we scale from a 4-year cohort model to a larger, more complex org.
- Link people metrics to business outcomes to drive accountability at the leadership level.

What You Bring

- 8-15 years as an HR generalist/HRBP; ed-tech or high-growth startup experience is a strong plus.
- A relationship-builder who reads people well, backed by sound judgment on labor law and payroll fundamentals.
- Comfort translating data into decisions, and workshops into real behaviour change.
