Role Description The Hostess role is a full-time, on-site position based in Mumbai at The Shalimar Hotel. The Hostess will warmly welcome guests upon arrival, manage seating arrangements, and coordinate with the restaurant team to ensure smooth table turnover and an efficient flow of service. Daily responsibilities include managing reservations, maintaining an organized waiting list, answering phone inquiries, and providing accurate information about menus and hotel services.

The Hostess will also handle guest requests, address concerns promptly, and support the overall guest experience by maintaining a clean and professional front-of-house area.



Collaboration with the service and kitchen teams is essential to ensure guests receive timely and courteous service.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong Interpersonal Skills and Customer Service abilities to engage with guests in a polite, professional, and welcoming manner.
- Candidates should possess effective Communication skills and solid Phone Etiquette to handle reservations, guest queries, and coordination with internal teams.
- Candidates should possess practical experience or familiarity with Reservations processes and basic front-of-house operations in a hotel or restaurant setting.

- Previous experience in hospitality or a guest-facing role is preferred; fluency in English and local languages is an advantage.
