Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced and qualified Head - Research Analyst to lead the Companys research function.

The individual will be responsible for developing and overseeing the Companys research framework, ensuring the quality and timeliness of research reports and recommendations, managing the research team, and ensuring that all research activities are conducted in accordance with applicable SEBI regulations, internal policies and compliance requirements.

The role requires strong expertise in equity research, financial analysis, capital markets and research methodologies, along with the ability to lead a team and establish a high-quality research function.

Key Responsibilities

1. Research Leadership

- Lead and manage the overall research function of the Company.
- Develop and implement the Companys research methodology and analytical framework.
- Identify and evaluate companies, sectors, industries and market trends for research coverage.
- Oversee the preparation of equity research reports, investment notes, sector reports and market commentary.
- Review research reports and recommendations for quality, accuracy and completeness.
- Ensure research is objective, evidence-based and supported by appropriate analysis.

2. Fundamental & Financial Research

- Conduct and oversee detailed fundamental analysis of companies and sectors.
- Analyse financial statements, business models, management quality, industry trends, valuation metrics and growth prospects.
- Develop and review financial models, forecasts and valuation models.
- Track corporate announcements, financial results, management commentary and industry developments.
- Develop investment views and recommendations based on comprehensive research and analysis.

3. Team Management

- Lead, mentor and manage the Research Analyst team.
- Allocate sectors, companies and research assignments to team members.
- Set KRAs, KPIs and performance standards for the research team.
- Review the quality and timelines of research deliverables.
- Conduct regular review meetings and provide guidance and training to team members.
- Build a strong research culture focused on quality, accuracy, integrity and compliance.

4. SEBI & Regulatory Compliance

- Ensure research activities and publications comply with applicable SEBI Research Analyst Regulations and other applicable regulatory requirements.




- Coordinate with the Compliance function on research-related regulatory requirements.
- Ensure appropriate disclosures, disclaimers and conflict-of-interest disclosures are incorporated into research reports.
- Maintain appropriate records and documentation relating to research activities.
- Ensure research recommendations are supported by proper analysis and documentation.
- Strictly adhere to the Companys internal policies and code of conduct.

5. Research Product Development

- Develop new research products, reports and analytical offerings based on market and client requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve research methodology and processes.
- Work with Management and relevant teams to develop scalable research processes.
- Explore the use of technology, data analytics and AI tools to improve research efficiency and quality, while ensuring regulatory compliance.

6. Market Monitoring

- Closely monitor domestic and global financial markets.
- Track economic indicators, monetary policy, corporate developments and sector trends.
- Provide timely market insights and internal research updates to Management.
- Stay updated on regulatory changes affecting research activities.

7. Quality Control & Governance

- Establish appropriate quality-control mechanisms for research publications.
- Ensure accuracy of data, calculations, assumptions, financial models and conclusions.
- Ensure research outputs are released within defined timelines.
- Maintain proper documentation and version control of research.
- Identify and mitigate potential research-related risks.

Qualification

- CFA / CA / MBA (Finance) NISM Research Analyst certification or other relevant professional qualification.
- Candidate must meet the applicable SEBI eligibility and certification requirements for carrying out research analyst activities.
- Strong academic background in Finance, Economics, Commerce or a related discipline.

Experience

- 12 to 15 years of relevant experience in equity research, investment research, financial analysis, securities research, asset management, brokerage or a related financial services environment.
- Prior experience in leading or managing a research team will be preferred.
- Experience with a SEBI-registered Research Analyst financial services organization will be an advantage.

- Familiarity with financial data platforms and analytical tools
- Exposure to AI/data analytics tools for research will be an advantage
