Head — Cybersecurity & Cyber Range Centre of Excellence
Lead India's first DGX-powered, live-fire Cyber Range — where AI defends, and AI is defended.
About DSU & the Cyber Range CoE
Dayananda Sagar University (DSU) is building one of India's most advanced academic AI ecosystems, anchored by a production-grade NVIDIA AI Factory and six domain Centres of Excellence. The Cyber Range CoE is a dedicated, isolated ~2,600 sq. ft. live-fire facility engineered for realistic attack–defence simulation, GPU-accelerated threat detection, and the security of AI systems themselves.
Backed by DSU's NVIDIA supercomputing fabric, the CoE addresses both sides of modern digital risk: using AI to detect and respond to threats at machine speed, while securing enterprise AI — models, data pipelines, autonomous agents, APIs, and edge devices.
The Role- Cyber Range Head
We are seeking a high-calibre techno-commercial leader who combines deep, hands-on expertise across security toolchains, high-performance compute, data-centre and network infrastructure, and commercial solution productisation. This is not an academic lab role in isolation — you will hold genuine operational and technical authority to transform state-of-the-art infrastructure into live training, applied research, monetisable proofs-of-concept, CISO-grade case studies, defensible IP, and scalable industry consulting.
“If you are driven to go beyond theoretical security research — to command a live-fire, supercomputer-backed cyber range and turn complex hardware and AI pipelines into high-value enterprise products and partnerships — this is your platform.”
What You'll Own
Cyber Range Operations & AI-First Security
- Operate the isolated Cyber Range, SOC workstations, and crisis-management environment as a live, always-ready facility.
- Design and run live-fire attack/defence labs, enterprise Capture-the-Flag events, automated incident-response drills, and red-team simulations against enterprise AI systems (LLMs, vision models, autonomous agents, RAG pipelines).
- Stand up GPU-accelerated threat-detection pipelines using NVIDIA Morpheus, RAPIDS, TensorRT, Triton, and NIM/NeMo.
Techno-Commercial Strategy & Productisation
- Convert raw CoE capability into commercial enterprise offerings, monetisable PoCs, paid security assessments, and CISO-ready case studies.
- Pitch custom security solutions to banks,
healthcare networks, defence agencies, cloud OEMs, and technology startups — bridging technical depth with clear business ROI.
- Lead commercial white papers, IP disclosures, and patentable frameworks in AI-SOC triage, prompt-injection defence, and OT/IoT security digital twins.
Systems, Hardware & Infrastructure Governance
- Provide end-to-end technical leadership over the full stack — from GPU supercomputing (NVIDIA DGX, Dell Blackwell nodes) to NVMe storage fabric, 800G InfiniBand networking, and data center power/cooling.
- Direct edge-security architectures on NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin to simulate and secure distributed IoT, OT, robotics, and smart-campus endpoints.
- Orchestrate line-rate log collection and telemetry streaming from isolated range networks into GPU-accelerated analytics.
Cross-Disciplinary Integration & Ecosystem Leadership
- Collaborate with DSU's other CoEs — AI & Robotics, Electronics & IoT, AR/VR/XR, Law & Privacy, and Healthcare — to build multi-domain threat models.
- Represent DSU to global security ecosystems, CERT communities, defence bodies, and partner networks.
- Manage deliverables with external technology-integration partners and industry sponsors.
Your First 12 Months
Initial Phase
- Establish an isolated cyber-range setting with an integrated Security Operations Centre workflow.
- Develop a reusable portfolio of live-fire cybersecurity scenarios covering areas such as ransomware response, phishing, cloud security, operational-technology anomalies and AI-enabled threats.
- Conduct industry discovery workshops and executive-level red-team/blue-team exercises.
- Develop AI-security proofs of concept, such as prompt-injection protection, intelligent threat monitoring and AI-assisted log analysis.
- Initiate opportunities for security assessments, corporate pilots, sponsored research and other industry engagements.
Scale-Up Phase
- Expand the Centre’s portfolio of paid industry engagements across sectors such as banking,
cloud services, defence, manufacturing and healthcare.
- Build a comprehensive library of validated cyber-range scenarios aligned with emerging industry risks.
- Deliver joint exercises, customised proofs of concept and solution-validation programmes with industry and technology partners.
- Generate intellectual property, commercial white papers, technical frameworks and industry case studies that strengthen DSU’s position in cybersecurity and secure AI operations.
- Develop repeatable engagement models that can be scaled across industry training, consulting, research and solution-validation requirements.
Who You Are - Eligibility:
- Ph.D. in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, ECE, AI, or Information Security — with 5+ years of leadership experience.
- M.Tech./M.S. in Cybersecurity, CS, or an allied discipline — with 7+ years of industry/ applied-R&D; experience.
- B.Tech./B.E. in CS, ECE, IT, or a related field — with 10+ years of deep technical, hardware-integration, and commercial-delivery experience.
What sets you apart
- Technical mastery: proven depth across SecOps tooling, high-density GPU computing, high-speed storage/networking, and edge-AI hardware.
- Commercial mindset: a track record of turning lab capability into enterprise contracts, CISO white papers, and monetisable consulting.
- Leadership style: high-ownership, proactive, and outcome-oriented; thrives in a fast-paced, build-from-zero environment.
Preferred (Bonus)
- Recognised certifications (e.g., OSCP,OSCE, GIAC, CISSP,CCIE-Security) or published security research / CVEs.
- Experience building or operating a cyber range, SOC, or CTF platform at scale.
- Hands-on work with NVIDIAAI stacks (Morpheus, NIM/NeMo, Triton) or MLSec Ops / AI red-teaming.
- Existing industry, CERT, or defence-sector network for partnership development.
Why DSU
- Command a genuinely rare asset — a DGX-powered, live-fire cyber range — with real budgetand authority, not a slide deck.
- A high-visibility leadership mandate reporting to the Officeof the Pro-Vice Chancellor.
- Freedom to build a commercial P&L;,IP portfolio, and national reputation from the groundup.
- Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience and profile.
