Role Description This is a full-time, in office Halwai Chef Commi II role based in Jaipur. The position focuses on preparing, cooking, and presenting Indian sweets and traditional desserts to established quality and hygiene standards.

Responsibilities include assisting senior chefs in menu execution, mise en place, and bulk production of sweets for buffets, banquets, and à la carte service. The role involves following standard recipes, managing portion control, and ensuring consistent taste, texture, and presentation.

Commi II will also support inventory rotation, maintain a clean and safe workspace, comply with food safety regulations, and collaborate with the broader kitchen team to deliver an excellent guest experience.

Qualifications

- Strong skills in preparation of Indian sweets and desserts, including traditional halwai techniques and basic bakery or confectionery knowledge.
- Ability to follow standard recipes, maintain portion control, and ensure consistent taste, texture, and presentation.
- Good understanding of food safety, hygiene practices, and kitchen sanitation standards.
- Capability to work in a fast-paced hotel kitchen environment, including teamwork, time management, and attention to detail.
- Prior experience as a Commi or in a halwai section in hotels, restaurants, or professional kitchens is preferred.
- Basic culinary education or formal training in culinary arts or hotel management is an advantage.
- Willingness to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays, as required by hotel operations.
- Ability to communicate clearly with colleagues and follow instructions from senior chefs and kitchen leadership.
