Role Description

This is a full-time remote role for a Generative AI Engineer. The Generative AI Engineer will design, build, and optimize agentic AI systems and workflows that support The Agentic Loop’s content, tools, and learning experiences. Day-to-day responsibilities include prototyping and evaluating LLM-based agents, integrating models with APIs and data sources, and developing reusable components for production-grade generative AI applications.

The role involves collaborating closely with content and program leads to translate frontier research into practical demos, tools, and teaching materials, as well as maintaining engineering best practices around testing, monitoring, and reliability.



The Generative AI Engineer will also contribute to technical documentation, internal knowledge sharing, and experimentation with new models, frameworks, and agent architectures.

Qualifications

- Solid software engineering skills in languages such as Python and JavaScript, including experience with modern development practices (version control, testing, CI/CD).
- Hands-on experience with generative AI and LLMs, including working with APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, similar providers) and building prompt, retrieval, or agent-based systems.
- Background in machine learning or data science, with familiarity in model evaluation, experimentation, and working with embeddings, vector databases, or NLP pipelines.
- Ability to design and implement backend services and integrations (RESTful APIs, cloud services, databases) to support scalable AI-powered applications.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Comfort working in a fast-moving, remote environment, with strong self-management, collaboration, and documentation habits.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience; prior experience building production or advanced prototypes in generative AI is highly beneficial.
- Interest in agentic AI, developer tooling, and education, and a willingness to experiment, learn new frameworks, and engage with the AI builder community.
