About UsWe are a creative technology studio focused on immersive digital experiences. We collaborate with top-tier professionals in North America to develop innovative projects at the forefront of Virtual Reality and interactive media.
Our team is currently working on a new VR multiplayer experience built in Unity for Meta Quest platforms, combining engaging gameplay with expressive characters and environments. This project is a flagship initiative within a world-leading VR content ecosystem.
The roleYou own features end to end — from the ticket, to the spec, to the built thing being reviewed. Same for map spaces: paper layout through to a Unity blockout.
This is a versatile seat, not a specialist one. Writing, level design, numbers and simple wireframes are all part of the job. We are not looking for the best in the world at any one of them — we are looking for someone genuinely practical across all of them.
Work is assigned as tickets and the Producer gives direction and feedback throughout. What is yours is the feature and its documentation, start to finish.
What you will do
- Write feature GDDs — states, rules, tuning variables, edge cases, what is out of scope.
- Design points of interest and block them out in Unity with primitives or ProBuilder.
- Balance systems with real numbers — TTK, healing rates, loot and item economy — and defend them.
- Deconstruct shipped games and turn what you find into decisions for ours.
- Produce simple UX wireframes and interaction flows for VR.
- Work directly with engineering, art and QA. Sit in playtests. Cut your own scope when the schedule says so.
Requirements
- 3+ years in game design,
with at least one shipped title and a named design role on it.
- GDD writing — you can turn a one-line request into a spec an engineer builds without asking five questions.
- Level design — POI layout, flow, sightlines, readability. You can build a greybox in Unity yourself.
- Balancing — comfortable doing the arithmetic, not just adjusting numbers until it feels right.
- UX wireframing — you can sketch an interaction clearly. You are not expected to be a UI artist.
- Autonomy. You take a short brief, ask the questions that matter, write the spec, and drive it to done without being chased. Feature direction is approved by the Producer — you bring options and a recommendation, not an open question.
- Proactivity. You raise risks and blockers early instead of at the deadline. You chase the answer rather than waiting for it. You spot the gap and propose the fix before it is asked for.
- Working English, written and spoken.
Nice to have
- VR experience — designing or shipping for standalone headsets.
- Shooter, battle royale or live-service experience.
- Systems or economy design.
- Unity beyond blockout — prefabs, ScriptableObjects, prototyping without an engineer.
- Playtest facilitation and reading telemetry.
What We Value:
- Precision: High-quality output and attention to detail in balancing VR experiences.
- Innovation: Creativity and a passion for immersive, interactive storytelling.
- Growth: Teamwork, adaptability, and a desire to continuously learn within the VR field.
