About Nubra
Nubra is a SEBI-registered trading platform built for active traders and investors. Our users watch live market data, place orders, and manage risk in real time - which makes the frontend the product itself, not a wrapper around it. As we scale, we’re looking for a Frontend Engineer who wants to build interfaces where latency, render performance, and the correctness of every number on screen are first-class engineering problems.
Role Overview
We’re looking for a Frontend Engineer to build and own trading experiences on our web platform. You’ll ship features across order placement, positions, option chain, and charting; work with high-frequency realtime market data; and contribute to the shared design system that keeps our web and mobile apps consistent. This is an ideal role for someone early in their career who wants depth in React and TypeScript on a product where frontend engineering decisions are visible to users immediately.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and ship features end to end using Next.js (App Router), React, and TypeScript.
- Work with high-frequency realtime data over WebSockets, designing state that updates hundreds of times a second without dropping frames.
- Build charting and market-data interfaces on TradingView and Highcharts, including custom indicators, overlays, and interaction patterns.
- Contribute to our internal component library and take screens through an active design-system revamp driven by Figma-sourced design tokens.
- Migrate pure business logic into our shared TypeScript package consumed by both web and React Native, so the two platforms don’t drift.
- Own the quality of what you ship - strong types,
edge cases, loading/error/empty states, and profiling when a screen gets heavy.
- Partner directly with Design, Backend, and Product to scope features, resolve ambiguity early, and measure impact after release.
- Participate actively in code review, both giving and receiving detailed feedback.
Must-Have Skills
- 1 to 3 years of experience building production React applications.
- Strong JavaScript and TypeScript fundamentals - comfortable with generics, discriminated unions, and typing an API contract properly rather than reaching for any.
- Solid React mental model: rendering behaviour, memoization, effects, and the ability to explain why a component re-rendered when it shouldn’t have.
- Experience with a modern React framework (Next.js preferred) and a state management library (Zustand, Redux- the specific choice matters less than understanding why state is shaped the way it is).
- Strong CSS skills, ideally Tailwind - able to build responsive, accessible layouts from a Figma file.
- Git fluency and the habit of writing code that is easy to review.
- Transparent written and verbal communication, and comfort working directly with non-engineering stakeholders.
Nice to Have
- Experience in fintech, trading, investing, or BFSI - or genuine curiosity about how markets and options work.
- Experience with charting libraries such as TradingView, Highcharts or D3.
- Familiarity with realtime data pipelines on the client.
- React Native experience, or having shipped code shared across web and mobile.
- Web performance work: bundle analysis, code splitting, Core Web Vitals.
- Experience owning or contributing to a design system or component library.
- Exposure to testing (Jest, React Testing Library, Playwright) and CI workflows.
