South Delhi · On-site · Full-time · Early career or lateral The role
We are building a full programmatic stack — a DSP, an SSP, an exchange, and the platform layer that holds them together. That is a lot of surface area, and much of it has never been written down. This role writes it down, then helps decide what gets built next.
You sit with the founder. You research the market, read the specs, talk to engineering, and turn all of it into documents people can act on: business requirements, product requirements, system specifications, technical guides, prompt libraries, tutorials. You are not a scribe. You are expected to have a position on what the architecture should look like and to defend it.
The role is broad on purpose. In a bootstrapped company approaching launch, the person who wrote the spec is often the person who also sits in on interviews, coaches a new engineer through their first sprint, drafts the launch copy, writes the internal policy nobody wanted to write, and stays late running the last round of testing.
What you will do
Product and architecture
- Research the programmatic advertising market — supply paths, auction mechanics, identity, measurement, the economics of each layer
- Write BRDs, PRDs, and SRS documents that engineering can build from without a follow-up meeting
- Study platform architecture at scale — how IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS layers are separated, priced, and operated — and bring that back into our design decisions
- Develop and maintain prompt engineering assets as we build AI-native workflows into the products
- Work on software packaging, release structure, and how our products are versioned, bundled, and shipped
Writing and communication
- Produce technical guides, how-tos, and tutorials for internal and external audiences
- Run social media marketing and external communications as the products approach launch
- Handle PR conversations with composure — you should be able to represent the company without a script
Operations and team
- Work alongside the founder on hiring, team building, coaching, and guiding software development
- Draft internal policies, reports, and the documentation that holds a growing team together
- Run project management day to day — agile where it helps, and honest about where it does not
- Keep motivation and focus intact through a long build cycle, including your own
Launch
- Own testing and teething work through launch — the unglamorous last mile where products either hold up or do not
What we are looking for
- An engineering graduate with a computer science major from a tier-1 institute. Not a minor, not an adjacent engineering branch. We state this plainly rather than filtering quietly at screening. The role assumes fluency in systems architecture and organisation as a starting point, not something to be learned on the job
- Genuine interest in advertising and ad-tech, and a view on where the industry is going
- High standards on software development, design, and system integrity — you should be uncomfortable shipping something you know is held together loosely, and able to say so
- Design aesthetics you can articulate. Not just taste, but the ability to explain why something works
- Strong writing.
You will be judged on documents more than on anything else
- Comfort moving between technical depth and business framing
- Temperament for bootstrapping — constraints treated as a design problem rather than a complaint
- Curiosity that shows up as output — things you have built, broken, tested, or shipped quickly
- A real interest in gamification, with specific examples you can talk through: systems you have studied, mechanics you find well-designed or badly designed, and why
- Willingness to work on-site in South Delhi through launch
Bonuses
Not required, but they change the conversation. If you have depth in any of these, tell us and we will discuss where the role bends toward it.
- CentOS, RHEL, or enterprise Linux operations
- Penetration testing and application security
- Systems architecture at infrastructure level
How we hire
Two paths. Experienced candidates go through a rigorous interview — expect a written exercise, an architecture discussion, and a session where you defend a document you wrote. Early-career candidates can enter through our early career program, where the bar on curiosity and speed matters more than the bar on experience.
How to apply
Visit our website before you apply. Include your PIN code in your CV. When asked in the interview process, provide Flight No. AI 102 for ready reference.
Send your CV with a short note covering:
1. One ad-tech company whose architecture or business model you find engaging, and what specifically you find engaging about it
2. A gamified system you have used or studied, and what you think its designers got right or wrong
3. A link to something you have written — technical, analytical, or otherwise
Applications without the note will not be reviewed.
