Role Overview

PES Engineers Pvt. Ltd. is looking for an experienced Fire Fighting & HVAC Engineer to be part of its in-house engineering team for thermal power and Balance of Plant (BoP) projects. The role will be responsible for design, engineering, technical specifications, vendor engineering and multidisciplinary coordination of fire protection, fire detection and HVAC/ventilation systems.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and engineering of complete fire protection and fire fighting systems for thermal power plants and associated BoP facilities.
- Engineering of fire water storage and pumping systems, hydrant and monitor systems, sprinkler/spray systems, foam systems and other special fire protection systems as applicable.
- Preparation and review of fire water hydraulic calculations, equipment sizing, P&IDs;, layouts, datasheets, technical specifications and BOQs.
- Engineering and review of fire detection and alarm systems and coordination with Electrical and C&I; disciplines.
- Design and engineering of HVAC, ventilation, pressurization and air-conditioning systems for control rooms, electrical buildings, MCC rooms, administrative/plant buildings and other project facilities.
- Preparation and review of heat-load calculations, ventilation calculations, equipment sizing, duct layouts, schematics and HVAC equipment specifications.
- Technical bid evaluation of vendors and support in technical negotiations and vendor finalization.
- Review and approval of vendor drawings, calculations and engineering documents.
- Coordinate interfaces with civil, structural, mechanical,



electrical, C&I; and architectural disciplines.
- Participate in client/consultant design review meetings and resolve technical comments and queries.
- Provide engineering support to project/site teams during installation, testing and commissioning.
- Ensure compliance with applicable NBC, TAC, NFPA, IS standards, statutory requirements and client specifications.

Key Skills & Competencies
- Robust design and engineering experience in Fire Fighting and HVAC systems for thermal power plants, industrial plants or large EPC projects.
- Sound knowledge of fire water hydraulics, pump sizing, hydrant/sprinkler/spray systems and fire detection philosophy.
- Strong understanding of HVAC heat-load calculations, ventilation requirements, ducting and equipment selection.
- Experience in preparation/review of technical specifications, datasheets, BOQs and vendor engineering documents.
- Good understanding of multidisciplinary interfaces in EPC projects.
- Familiarity with NTPC / PSU / State Genco specifications and engineering practices will be preferred.

Qualification

- B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.

Candidate Profile

- 10+ years of relevant experience in Fire Fighting and HVAC design/engineering, preferably for thermal power or large industrial EPC projects.
- Should have substantial engineering-office design experience; profiles limited primarily to site execution will not be suitable.
- Capable of independently handling Fire Fighting and HVAC engineering packages from basic engineering through detailed engineering and vendor coordination.
- Strong technical documentation, coordination and problem-solving skills.
- Office-based position in Gurgaon / Delhi NCR with project/site travel as required.
