Role Purpose The Field Application Scientist ensure effective adoption, optimal performance, and sustained customer satisfaction of Premas client technologies. The FAS provides hands-on technical training, ongoing customer support, and pre- and post-sales scientific assistance. The FAS also supports internal teams through training, technical documentation, and field feedback for product improvement, acting as a key interface between customers, sales, and R&D; to drive business growth and customer success.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive technical training and support for PREMAS client technology, including hands-on wet lab and software training.
- Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for customers in person, and via phone, email, and web.
- Provide pre- and post-sales technical and scientific presentations, to small groups and large audiences, on the use of above technology in life science and clinical research.
- Create and maintain support information in the company enterprise database.
- Develop and implement training plans and courses for internal and external customers.
- Participate in new product development projects as a representative of the commercial and technical support teams.
- Assist in the creation and review of technical materials (manuals, application notes, presentations).
- Follow standard practices and procedures analyzing situations or data.
Must-Have Competencies
- Strong expertise in molecular biology techniques, with hands-on experience in NGS workflows (library preparation, sequencing, and basic data analysis); microarray experience is a plus.
- Ability to deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations, and scientific training to researchers, clinicians, and laboratory professionals.
- Experience in customer-facing scientific roles such as field applications, technical support, application training, or scientific consulting (preferred).
- Strong customer orientation, supporting pre-sales discussions, product demonstrations, and post-installation application support.
- Effective cross-functional collaboration with sales, service, and internal technical teams.
- Adherence to organizational policies, SOPs, and quality standards, with accurate documentation and reporting.
- Demonstrates professionalism, integrity, and scientific credibility while representing the organization.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for experimental workflows and customer support.
- Effective time management, prioritization, and willingness to travel based on business needs.
- Demonstrates adaptability, continuous learning, and alignment with organizational values and goals.
Valuable-to-Have Competencies
- Experience in Flow Cytometry data analysis and interpretation (is a plus, not mandatory). Working knowledge of bioinformatics pipelines, data interpretation, and report generation (would be a Plus).
Education & Experience
- Essential: Master’s degree (MSc / MTech) in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, or a related discipline.
- Preferred: PhD in a relevant life science discipline
- Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience in life sciences research, clinical research, or molecular diagnostics.
