Job Title: Environmental Expert, WTP

Location: Panjrapur, Mumbai, Maharashtra

Experience Required: 12-15 years in Environment Management, Compliance, and Sustainability

Reports To: Project Director / Setting Head

Job Purpose:

To oversee and implement all environmental management activities at the WTP (Water Treatment Plant), Bhandup project site, ensuring compliance with environmental laws, sustainable practices, ISO standards, and client-specific requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Environmental Compliance & Clearances

- Obtain and manage Environmental Clearances (EC), Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) clearances, and Pollution Control Board (PCB) consents.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with MoEFCC, MPCB, and other regulatory authorities.
- Prepare and submit six-monthly environmental compliance reports.

Sustainability & ESG

- Drive ESG initiatives including BRSR reporting, GHG accounting, and carbon footprint reduction strategies.
- Liaise with supply chain partners to enhance sustainability and ethical sourcing.
- Monitor site-level sustainability performance and identify areas of improvement.

Monitoring & Audits

- Plan and execute Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) studies and Environment Management Plans (EMP).
- Conduct audits under ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 standards.
- Oversee environmental monitoring including air, water, noise, marine biodiversity, and soil quality.





Training & Awareness

- Conduct site-level training on environmental practices, compliance, and regulations.
- Promote community environmental awareness and corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives like tree plantation, waste management, and water conservation.

Project Coordination & Reporting

- Prepare technical documentation, reports, and presentations.
- Coordinate with governmental bodies, consultants, and internal teams for timely approvals and submissions.
- Support administrative and technical aspects of environmental projects including site inspections and risk assessments.

Desired Profile:

Education

- M.Sc. in Marine Sciences or Environmental Science (mandatory)
- Ph.D. in Ecological Engineering (Pursuing) Added advantage
- Advance Diploma in Industrial Safety (ADIS)

Certifications

- Lead Auditor ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 (CQI & IRCA Certified)
- CII Certified in Resource Efficiency & Environmental Sustainability

Technical Skills

- Proficient in ALOHA, AERMET, Custic, WRPLOT, LCA tools
- EIA, EMP, MCLS, QRA, AERMOD

Soft Skills

- Strong report writing and communication
- Stakeholder management and coordination
- Analytical and solution-oriented thinking
