Responsibilities Includes:

Engineering & Maintenance

- Lead overall Mechanical and Electrical Engineering & Maintenance activities across the manufacturing facility.
- Ensure high availability, reliability and performance of plant equipment and systems.
- Develop and implement preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance programs.
- Ensure timely maintenance of reactors, centrifuges, dryers, filters, pumps, compressors, vacuum systems, agitators and other critical process equipment.
- Monitor equipment performance, maintenance KPIs, breakdown trends and reliability improvement initiatives.
- Drive energy optimization, equipment reliability and maintenance cost reduction.

Utilities

- Overall responsibility for critical and non-critical utilities including:

- Chilled Water / Chillers

- Cooling Towers
- Boilers / Thermic Fluid Systems

- Compressed Air

- Nitrogen Systems

- Vacuum Systems

- HVAC
- DM / Purified Water Systems
- ETP / STP and related utility systems
- Ensure reliable and uninterrupted utility supply to manufacturing operations.
- Monitor utility consumption, efficiency and cost optimization.
- Ensure statutory compliance and safe operation of utility systems.

Electrical Engineering

- Lead electrical maintenance and infrastructure activities including HT/LT systems, transformers, DG sets, MCCs, PCCs, electrical distribution and critical power systems.
- Ensure preventive maintenance and statutory compliance of electrical installations.
- Manage power reliability, electrical safety and energy conservation initiatives.

Projects & Capex

- Lead engineering projects, plant modifications, capacity expansion and utility enhancement projects.




- Review engineering specifications, layouts, equipment selection and technical proposals.
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, vendors and cross-functional teams.
- Ensure projects are completed within approved timelines, budgets and quality requirements.

GMP / Compliance

- Ensure Engineering and Utilities systems comply with GMP, EHS and regulatory requirements applicable to API manufacturing.
- Provide engineering support for qualification and validation of equipment and utilities.
- Review/approve engineering-related URS, DQ, FAT, SAT, IQ, OQ, PQ and requalification documents.
- Ensure engineering systems remain in a qualified and compliant state.
- Support QA during regulatory, customer and internal audits.
- Ensure timely closure of engineering-related deviations, CAPAs, change controls and audit observations.

Leadership

- Lead and develop the Engineering, Maintenance and Utilities team.
- Establish department objectives, KPIs and performance monitoring systems.
- Ensure manpower planning, competency development and technical training.
- Drive a culture of reliability, safety, compliance and continuous improvement.

Candidate Profile

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering; relevant postgraduate qualification will be an advantage.
- 12+ years of relevant experience, preferably in API/Bulk Drug or Pharmaceutical manufacturing.
- Solid hands-on experience in both Mechanical and Electrical Engineering & Utilities.
- Proven experience in managing large-scale manufacturing plants and utility systems.
- Strong knowledge of GMP, qualification/validation, EHS and statutory requirements.
- Experience in handling regulatory/customer audits and engineering compliance.
