Company Description Neural Motion Private Limited designs intelligent robotic systems that can perceive, adapt, and respond to human behavior in real-world environments. The company operates at the intersection of robotics, sensing, and applied intelligence, focusing on technology that moves with purpose and delivers meaningful interactions.
Neural
Motion is currently in an early build-and-validate phase, collaborating closely with select partners to refine its solutions. This workplace offers team members the opportunity to influence core product decisions, contribute to foundational system design, and help shape the direction of the company ahead of a broader launch.
Role Description
We are looking for a hands-on Electronics Design Engineer to own the end-to-end hardware architecture of our next-generation educational robot. In this role, you will design, prototype, and scale reliable, cost-effective printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) featuring motor control, wireless connectivity, dynamic lighting, and interactive sensing systems.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Circuit Design: Define hardware architecture including microcontroller (MCU) selection, battery/power management, motor drive electronics, and sensor suites (distance, light, touch, sound, line-following).
Schematic & PCB Layout: Perform schematic capture and multi-layer PCB layout (e.g., using Altium, KiCad, or OrCAD) optimized for signal integrity, low noise,
low power consumption, and small form factor.
Prototyping & Board Bring-Up: Solder, assemble, and test initial prototypes. Debug hardware issues using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multimeter tools.
**Design for Manufacturing (DFM/DFT):* Partner with contract manufacturers (CMs) for component sourcing, PCBA fabrication, surface-mount assembly (SMT), test fixture setup, and design optimization for mass production.
Compliance & Safety: Design boards to meet international consumer product standards (e.g., BIS, CE, FCC, RoHS, and child safety guidelines like EN71 / ASTM F963)
Qualifications
Experience: Relevant 4+ years in hands-on PCB design, hardware bring-up, and taking at least one complex electronics product into volume manufacturing.
Embedded Hardware: Deep experience with ARM Cortex MCUs, ESP32, or Nordic (nRF) chips, along with common buses (I2C, SPI, UART, PWM, ADC)
Power & Motor Control: Proven experience with DC motor drivers, encoders, Li-ion/LiPo battery management circuits (charging, protection, fuel gauging), and efficient DC-DC converters
Nice-to-Haves
- Prior experience designing EdTech robotics, toys, or interactive smart consumer devices.
Basic familiarity with C/C++ or Python for hardware testing scripts.
Experience with wireless standards (Bluetooth Low Energy / Wi-Fi antenna matching and certificates)
