Position Summary

FGI is seeking a Director of Technology and Innovation to define and execute the firm's technology strategy and drive its ongoing digital transformation. This individual will partner closely with legal and operations leadership to modernize FGI's technology landscape, improve operational efficiency, and advance the firm's use of AI and emerging technologies across case management, document processing, and client-facing tools. This role also owns the firm's cybersecurity posture, including completing security audits required by FGI's corporate clients, and works closely with on-the-ground IT vendors in both the US and India.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on technology leader who can balance strategic thinking with practical, day-to-day execution appropriate for a growing firm, and who can work overlapping hours across both US and India time zones.

Key Responsibilities

Technology Strategy & Roadmap

- Develop and maintain a technology roadmap aligned with the firm's growth and operational goals.
- Advise firm leadership on technology investments, emerging trends, and digital transformation opportunities.
- Lead modernization initiatives across the firm's applications, case management systems, and internal tools.

Immigration Technology & Case Management Innovation

- Lead the strategy and ongoing improvement of the firm's immigration case management systems and client-facing digital tools.




- Help ensure the firm's systems and workflows can adapt quickly to regulatory changes affecting technology and filing requirements, such as USCIS's mandatory e-filing rule.
- Champion technology-driven improvements to client experience, compliance management, and service delivery.
- Partner with legal and operations teams to translate business requirements into practical, scalable technology solutions.

Artificial Intelligence & Emerging Technologies

- Define and lead the firm's AI adoption roadmap.
- Identify, evaluate, and implement AI-driven tools that improve efficiency in case preparation, document review, and knowledge management.
- Establish responsible AI practices and usage guidelines for the firm.
- Run pilots and proof-of-concepts to evaluate new tools before firm-wide rollout.

Cybersecurity & Client Security Audits

- Own the firm's overall cybersecurity posture, including policies, monitoring, and incident response.
- Complete and manage security audits, questionnaires, and assessments required by FGI's corporate clients as a condition of doing business.
- Coordinate remediation of identified vulnerabilities or gaps in partnership with IT vendors and internal teams.
- Stay current on data protection and security requirements relevant to the confidential immigration and personal data FGI handles.

Vendor & Technology Operations

- Evaluate, select, and manage relationships with key technology vendors and SaaS platforms.
- Work closely with on-the-ground IT vendors in both the US and India to support day-to-day technology operations.
- Lead contract negotiations and implementation planning for new technology tools.




- Ensure vendor solutions meet the firm's security, integration, and budget requirements.
- Oversee day-to-day technology operations and troubleshooting support as needed.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

- Serve as a trusted technology advisor to firm leadership.
- Build solid working partnerships across legal, operations, and India-based teams.
- Foster technology adoption and a culture of continuous improvement across the firm.
- Mentor and develop technology staff as the team grows.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of technology leadership experience, with a track record of increasing responsibility.
- Experience defining and executing technology strategies and roadmaps for a growing organization.
- Experience managing SaaS vendor relationships and technology investments.
- Demonstrated success leading cross-functional initiatives involving both business and technical stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with non-technical legal and operations leadership.
- Experience with cybersecurity practices and completing client-driven security audits or assessments (e.g., vendor security questionnaires, SOC 2, or similar frameworks).
- Ability and willingness to work overlapping hours across both US and India time zones to coordinate with on-the-ground IT vendors and teams in each region.

Preferred (Nice to Have)

- Experience within immigration, legal services, global mobility, HR technology, or professional services organizations.
- Familiarity with immigration case management platforms, visa assessment workflows, and business travel compliance programs.
- Experience with AI, generative AI, automation, agentic workflows, and intelligent document processing solutions.
- Experience building or scaling client-facing digital products.
