POSITION PURPOSE
SANPAR Industries is seeking a skilled Design Engineer proficient in SolidWorks to lead the mechanical design and detailing of Air Chillers, Water Chillers, and Compressed Air Dryers. The role demands strong expertise in sheet metal drafting, product component layout, and the ability to translate application requirements into manufacturable, cost-
effective designs that meet the company's quality and compliance standards, including AS 9100D and customer-
specific technical requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and develop 3D models, assemblies, and detailed 2D manufacturing drawings for Air Chillers, Water
Chillers, and Compressed Air Dryers using SolidWorks.
- Prepare sheet metal drafting and fabrication drawings, including flat pattern development, bend allowances, and
fold sequences for panels, enclosures, and cabinet structures.
- Carry out product component layout and general arrangement (GA) drawings, ensuring optimal placement of
compressors, condensers, evaporators, piping, electricals, and controls within the equipment footprint.
- Select and size mechanical components (heat exchangers, fans, motors, piping, fasteners) in coordination with
thermal/process requirements.
- Generate and maintain Bill of Materials (BOM), part numbering (per SOP-ENG-001), and engineering
documentation for each product variant.
- Perform design validation, tolerance stacking, and DFM/DFA (Design for Manufacturing/Assembly) reviews to
reduce fabrication and assembly issues.
- Support prototype build, factory testing, and troubleshoot design-related issues arising during production or field
installation.
- Coordinate with production, quality (AS 9100D/ISO 9001), and procurement teams to ensure design intent is met
during fabrication and assembly.
- Incorporate customer-specific technical specifications and statutory/certification requirements (e.g., DGAQA,
CEMILAC) into design outputs where applicable.
- Maintain and update the SolidWorks PDM/drawing library, revision control,
and engineering change notes (ECN).
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives — cost reduction, standardization of components, and design
optimization across product lines. REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERTISE
- Proficiency in SolidWorks (Part, Assembly, Drawing, and Sheet Metal modules) — mandatory.
- Strong hands-on expertise in sheet metal drafting: flat patterns, bend deductions, gauge selection, and
fabrication-friendly design.
- Sound understanding of product component layout for RAC (Refrigeration & Air Conditioning) equipment,
compressed air systems, or similar capital equipment.
- Working knowledge of GD&T;, tolerance analysis, and engineering drawing standards (ASME Y14.5 / ISO).
- Familiarity with refrigeration cycle components (compressors, condensers, evaporators, expansion devices) and
compressed air dryer construction is highly desirable.
- Exposure to piping layout, ducting, and panel/enclosure design for industrial equipment.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes — laser cutting, bending, welding, powder coating — as they
influence design decisions.
- Familiarity with PDM/PLM tools and engineering documentation control practices.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Certification in SolidWorks (CSWA/CSWP) preferred but not mandatory.
- 3–8 years of relevant design experience, preferably in RAC, HVAC, compressed air systems, or capital equipment
manufacturing.
KEY ATTRIBUTES
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to design accuracy and manufacturability.
- Ability to work collaboratively across design, production, and quality functions.
- Good problem-solving skills with a practical, shop-floor-aware design approach.
- Willingness to visit the shop floor and vendor facilities to validate designs against real fabrication constraints.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
