Design Engineer – Roles and Responsibilities

Experience: 1 to 4 Years

Key Roles and Responsibilities

- Develop and design mechanical components, assemblies, and products as per customer requirements and engineering standards.
- Prepare 2D drawings and 3D models using CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, CATIA, or similar software.
- Understand and interpret customer drawings, specifications, and technical requirements.
- Prepare detailed manufacturing drawings with dimensions, tolerances, GD&T;, material specifications, and surface finish requirements.
- Perform design calculations and basic engineering analysis wherever required.
- Coordinate with the Production, Quality, Purchase, and Tool Room teams for product development and manufacturing feasibility.
- Support new product development (NPD) activities from concept design to final production.
- Conduct design modifications based on customer feedback, production issues, or quality requirements.
- Prepare and maintain BOM (Bill of Materials) and engineering documents.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable quality standards and customer specifications.




- Participate in design reviews and provide technical support to internal teams.
- Support prototype development, testing, validation, and trial production.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction, design improvement, and process optimization.
- Maintain proper revision control and documentation for drawings and design changes.
- Work closely with senior engineers to resolve technical and manufacturing issues.
- Follow company procedures related to ISO, safety, quality, and engineering documentation.

Required Skills
- Good knowledge of 2D & 3D CAD software.
- Knowledge of GD&T; and engineering drawing interpretation.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes such as CNC, VMC, Turning.
- Knowledge of materials and manufacturing tolerances.
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
