Position: DataStage & Snowflake Developer

Job Summary

We are looking for experienced DataStage & Snowflake Developers with strong hands-on experience in IBM DataStage and Snowflake. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in DataStage, along with positive knowledge of SQL, ETL development, data warehousing, and Snowflake.

The candidate will be responsible for developing, enhancing, testing, and supporting ETL/data integration solutions and migrating or integrating data across enterprise data platforms.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, test, and maintain ETL workflows using IBM DataStage.
- Develop and maintain DataStage Parallel Jobs, Sequences, and Job Activities.
- Work with various DataStage stages including:
- Transformer
- Lookup
- Join
- Aggregator
- Sort
- Funnel
- Sequential File
- Dataset
- ODBC/JDBC
- Develop complex ETL mappings and transformations based on business requirements.
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries for data extraction and transformation.
- Work extensively with Snowflake for data loading, transformation, querying, and validation.
- Develop and maintain data pipelines between source systems, DataStage, and Snowflake.
- Perform data migration and reconciliation activities.
- Analyze data quality issues and perform root-cause analysis.
- Optimize ETL jobs and SQL queries for performance.
- Monitor scheduled jobs and troubleshoot production failures.
- Perform unit testing, integration testing, and data validation.
- Work with business analysts and technical teams to understand requirements and provide technical solutions.




- Prepare technical documentation for ETL processes and data flows.
- Participate in production support and incident resolution.

- Database, schema, table, view, and stage creation.
- Loading data into Snowflake.
- COPY INTO and bulk data loading.
- Snowflake SQL.
- Stored procedures and functions.
- Data transformation and cleansing.
- Performance optimization.
- Snowflake file formats and external/internal stages.
- Data validation and reconciliation.
- Basic understanding of Snowflake security and access controls.

DataStage Skills Strong hands-on experience in:

- IBM DataStage Designer and Director.
- Parallel Job development.
- Job sequences.
- Parameter sets and environment variables.
- DataStage transformations.
- Lookup, Join, Merge, Sort, Aggregator, and Transformer stages.
- Sequential files and datasets.
- Job scheduling and monitoring.
- Error handling and restartability.
- ETL performance tuning.
- Production issue troubleshooting.

Good to Have

- Experience with DataStage-to-Snowflake migration/integration.
- Exposure to cloud data platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience with Unix/Linux shell scripting.
- Knowledge of Python.
- Experience with scheduling tools such as Control-M.
- Exposure to CI/CD and DevOps processes.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
