About The Role

GyanSys is seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer / Consultant to join its expanding Data & Analytics practice. This role is pivotal in designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-level data engineering solutions that support data-driven decision-making and analytics initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess strong hands-on experience in creating scalable and efficient data pipelines across modern cloud platforms, with a focus on Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Engineering, Databricks, PySpark, and related technologies.

The role involves collaborating closely with architects, business stakeholders, data scientists, and cross-functional teams to implement robust data solutions that meet organizational needs. Candidates should be prepared to work in a dynamic environment, contributing to the development of innovative data architectures and ensuring best practices in data governance, security, and performance optimization.

Qualifications The ideal candidate should hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. A minimum of 4 years of professional experience in Data Engineering or similar roles is required.

Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Fabric Data Engineer Associate, Azure Data Engineer Associate, or Databricks Certified Data Engineer are preferred.



Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in cloud data platforms, SQL, data modeling, and ETL/ELT pipeline development.

Experience working with relational databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL, along with familiarity with modern data architectures like Lakehouse and Data Warehouse, is essential. Additionally, strong problem-solving skills, the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, and a continuous learning mindset are crucial for success in this role.

Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines for enterprise data platforms, ensuring efficiency and reliability.
- Create data engineering solutions utilizing Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, PySpark, Spark SQL, and Python to support various data initiatives.
- Build and manage data pipelines for structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data sources, integrating data from SQL databases, APIs, cloud storage, ERP systems, and SaaS applications.
- Work with Microsoft Fabric components such as Fabric Data Factory, Lakehouse, Warehouse, Dataflows, and Notebooks to implement comprehensive data solutions.
- Develop and optimize Databricks notebooks, Spark jobs, Delta Lake pipelines, and Databricks workflows to ensure high performance and cost efficiency.
- Implement modern data architecture principles, including Medallion Architecture and Lakehouse/Data Platform frameworks, to facilitate scalable and maintainable data ecosystems.
- Design and develop data models, data warehouses, data lakes, and Lakehouse solutions aligned with organizational requirements.
- Optimize data pipelines, Spark jobs, SQL queries, and storage solutions to enhance performance and reduce operational costs.
- Establish data quality, validation, monitoring, governance, security, and compliance practices to ensure data integrity and regulatory adherence.




- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub, and related tools to streamline deployment and version control processes.
- Troubleshoot production issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement performance improvements to ensure system stability.
- Collaborate effectively with solution architects, business analysts, data scientists, and BI teams to deliver comprehensive data solutions.
- Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, documentation efforts, and knowledge-sharing initiatives to promote best practices.
- Mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence within the team.
