About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Data Analyst to support our furniture manufacturing operations through data-driven insights. The role will analyze data across production, inventory, supply chain, procurement, sales, quality, logistics, and finance and convert it into actionable recommendations for management.
The ideal candidate will have solid hands-on experience with Microsoft Excel, Power BI, SQL, ERP systems, data visualization, and manufacturing KPIs.
Key Responsibilities1. Data Analysis & Reporting
- Collect, clean, validate, and analyze data from ERP systems, Excel files, databases, and other business systems.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly management reports.
- Identify trends, variances, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Perform ad-hoc analysis to support management decision-making.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
1. Manufacturing & Production Analytics
- Analyze production performance, capacity utilization, productivity, downtime, scrap, rework, and labor efficiency.
- Monitor KPIs such as:
- Production output
- On-time production
- Production efficiency
- Capacity utilization
- Labor productivity
- Scrap/rework percentage
- Downtime
- First-pass yield
- Order fulfillment
- Identify production bottlenecks and perform root-cause analysis.
- Support continuous-improvement and cost-reduction initiatives.
1. Inventory & Supply Chain Analytics
- Analyze raw-material, WIP, and finished-goods inventory.
- Monitor inventory turns, aging, shortages, excess inventory, and stock availability.
- Analyze purchasing, supplier performance, lead times, and material consumption.
- Support demand forecasting and inventory optimization.
- Identify opportunities to reduce inventory carrying costs.
1. Sales & Business Analytics
- Analyze sales by product, customer, channel, region, and time period.
- Monitor sales trends, margins, order volumes, cancellations, and returns.
- Support forecasting and business planning.
- Provide management with insights into product and customer profitability.
1. Power BI & Dashboard Development
- Build and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards for management and operational teams.
- Develop dashboards for production, inventory, purchasing, sales, quality, and supply chain.
- Create appropriate KPIs, data models, calculated measures, and visualizations.
- Automate recurring reports wherever possible.
- Ensure dashboards are accurate, user-friendly, and maintained on schedule.
1. SQL & Data Management
- Write SQL queries to extract and analyze data from company databases.
- Join and transform data from multiple sources.
- Identify and resolve data-quality issues.
- Work with IT and business teams to improve data structures and reporting processes.
- Maintain documentation for reports, dashboards, data sources, and KPI definitions.
1. ERP & Systems
- Extract and analyze data from the company's ERP/MRP system.
- Work with Operations, Finance, Purchasing, Sales, and IT to ensure accurate system data.
- Identify reporting gaps and recommend system/process improvements.
- Support ERP reporting and data-integrity initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, MIS, or manufacturing analytics.
- Manufacturing-industry experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including:
- Pivot Tables
- XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP
- INDEX/MATCH
- SUMIFS/COUNTIFS
- Power Query
- Data validation
- Charts and dashboards
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI.
- Working knowledge of SQL.
- Experience working with ERP/MRP systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Ability to communicate analytical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in furniture, woodworking, home furnishings, cabinetry, or consumer-products manufacturing.
- Experience with SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle, NetSuite, Epicor, Infor, or similar ERP systems.
- Knowledge of Power BI DAX and data modeling.
- Experience with Python or other analytics/programming languages.
- Experience with forecasting, statistical analysis, or inventory optimization.
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous-improvement methodologies.
- Experience working with U.S. manufacturing operations.
