DAP Storage Engineer plays a critical role in driving continuous improvement, operational efficiency, and system reliability across global enterprise storage infrastructures. This role proactively monitors, analyzes, and optimizes storage performance, health, and expenditure. Working closely with cross-functional internal teams (DAP, Edge) and external service providers, the DAP Storage Engineer ensures robust storage operations, rapid incident resolution, and the execution of key strategic infrastructure projects.

- NetApp NAS Administration: Advanced storage provisioning (Aggregates, Volumes, SVMs, NAS protocols) and Data Protection/DR execution (SnapMirror, SVM DR, SnapVault, SnapLock).
- SAN &
- Hyperconverged Storage:
Administration and troubleshooting across IBM SAN platforms, SAN switch configuration, VMware vSAN, and replication setup.
- Storage Monitoring &
- Management Tools:
Hands-on experience with ActiveIQ, OnCommand Unified Manager (OCUM), NetApp BlueXP, and VMware Aria Operations (vROps).

Key Responsibilities
- Storage Monitoring &
- Operations:
Perform regular monitoring of NAS (NetApp), SAN (IBM), and vSAN environments using operational tools. Identify anomalies, report incidents to managed service providers (e.g., Kyndryl), and ensure prompt resolution.
- Capacity &
- Cost Optimization:
Conduct bi-weekly capacity reviews to analyze growth trends, "days to full" metrics, and backup health.
Validate Resource
Usage (RU) reports and ORION/HENKA billing metrics to ensure strict cost control and accurate vendor billing.
- Infrastructure Optimization &
- Projects:
Lead and support optimization initiatives driven by Architects and Delivery Managers. Perform deep-dive application-level usage analysis to reduce overhead and streamline workplace performance.
- Auditing &
- Reporting:
Execute monthly audits to identify and reclaim orphaned disks, unallocated storage, and stale resources across virtualized systems. Maintain operational visibility by tracking tasks in Jira and producing actionable reporting using VMware Aria Operations (vROps) and IDR.
- Mainframe &
- Decommissioning Support:
Assist global mainframe teams with monthly EU regional metrology reports. Validate and reclaim storage associated with VMs during structured decommissioning activities.
