Designation: Offshore Controller
Work Location: Ahmedabad
Reports To: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Offshore Controller to join our growing team. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this role will own the day-to-day accounting operations across multiple U.S. legal entities while helping build a scalable, best-in-class finance function supporting organic growth and acquisitions. The ideal candidate is a CPA (or equivalent international accounting designation) with deep knowledge of U.S.
GAAP, extensive multi-entity accounting experience, advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online or Intuit Enterprise Suite, and a proven track record supporting U.S.-based companies. This individual thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and leverages technology and automation to improve accuracy and efficiency.
Financial Reporting & Close
Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close for multiple legal entities.
Prepare timely, accurate U.S. GAAP financial statements.
Maintain reconciled balance sheet accounts and supporting schedules.
Perform intercompany reconciliations and consolidations.
Support management and Board reporting.
Accounting Operations
Oversee the general ledger, AP, AR, payroll accounting, and fixed assets.
Ensure proper revenue recognition under ASC 606.
Maintain accounting policies, chart of accounts, and standard procedures.
Review journal entries and reconciliations for accuracy.
Compliance, Audit & Technical Accounting
Support annual audits and tax compliance.
Prepare audit-ready workpapers.
Assist with technical accounting research and implementation of new standards.
Maintain robust internal controls and documentation.
Acquisitions & Growth
Support acquisition due diligence and post-close integration.
Assist with purchase accounting under ASC 805.
Standardize accounting processes across acquired businesses.
Systems & Process Improvement
Serve as subject matter expert for QuickBooks Online and/or Intuit Enterprise Suite.
Support future ERP implementations, including NetSuite.
Leverage AI and workflow automation to improve accounting efficiency.
Develop scalable accounting processes.
Business Partnership
Partner with the CFO on budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and financial analysis.
Prepare materials for investors, and the Board.
Collaborate effectively with U.S.-based leadership and offshore team members.
Qualifications Required
CPA or equivalent international accounting designation.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
8–10+ years of progressive accounting experience.
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
Experience with multiple legal entities.
Advanced QuickBooks Online or Intuit Enterprise Suite experience.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Experience supporting annual financial statement audits.
Experience working directly with U.S.-based companies, including regular interaction with U.S. finance leadership.
Demonstrated understanding of U.S. business practices, communication expectations, and accounting deadlines.
Experience working successfully in a remote, cross-border finance organization supporting U.S. operations.
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
Ability to work overlapping hours with the U.S. Eastern Time Zone.
Preferred
Private equity-backed company experience.
Professional services, advisory, valuation, or M&A; industry experience.
Acquisition accounting and ASC 805 experience.
NetSuite or ERP implementation experience.
Board reporting experience.
Experience leading accounting staff.
Familiarity with AI-powered productivity and accounting automation tools.

Key Performance Objectives (First 12 Months):
Reduce the monthly close to five business days or fewer.
Deliver accurate monthly financial statements with minimal post-close adjustments.
Produce audit-ready schedules that reduce external audit effort.
Standardize accounting processes across all Clients entities.
Successfully integrate accounting for future acquisitions.
Increase automation and reduce manual accounting processes.
Become the CFO's trusted business partner for accounting operations and financial reporting.
