Role OverviewDakshinam Sarees is looking for a Content Designer to shape how the brand looks, sounds and tells its story — across social media, exhibitions and in-store visual merchandising (VM). This role sits at the intersection of design and storytelling: you will design and produce the visual and written content that carries our narrative of craft, community and ethnic fashion to our audience, and translate that same narrative into physical brand moments at exhibitions and in our stores.

You will work closely with the founder to build a cohesive visual identity for the brand, one that does justice to the weavers and artisans behind every saree, and brings that story to life for a modern audience — online and in person.

Key ResponsibilitiesSocial Media & Digital Storytelling

• Design and produce end to end content solutions that are rooted in the brand's craft and design narrative.

• Help create and execute the content calendar, keeping a consistent, recognisable visual rhythm across posts.

• Stay on top of platform trends and formats, and suggest fresh ways to keep the brand's storytelling engaging and current.

Graphic Design & Typography

• Create graphics, layouts and typography systems for digital and print use — from social templates to lookbooks and campaign creatives.

• Build and maintain a visual toolkit (colour, type, layout guidelines) that keeps all brand assets cohesive across touchpoints.

• Design collateral for product launches, festive campaigns and collaborations with weavers and artisans.

Content Shoots & Production

• Plan and shoot photo and video content for products, campaigns and behind-the-scenes stories (studio and on-location, including at stores and with artisans).

• Handle basic photo and video editing to a polished, on-brand finish.





• Coordinate with external photographers, models or stylists on larger shoots when needed.

Exhibitions & In-Store VM

• Design visual assets for exhibitions and pop-ups — signage, backdrops, standees and print collateral that reflect the brand identity.

• Support in-store visual merchandising across all store locations, ensuring displays and merchandising cues stay true to the brand's look and feel.

• Adapt the digital brand narrative into physical, walk-through experiences for customers at stores and events.

Brand Consistency

• Ensure a consistent brand voice, tone and visual language across every asset — digital, print and in-store.

• Help build out and refine brand guidelines as the identity evolves.

Core Capabilities• Strong graphic design and typography skills, with a valuable eye for layout and composition

• Comfortable shooting and editing photo and video content

• Confident, engaging writing for social captions and brand storytelling

• Working knowledge of social media platforms, formats and publishing

• Ability to translate a brand narrative across different mediums — digital, print and physical spaces

• Organised, detail-oriented and comfortable managing multiple projects and deadlines

Qualifications• 1-2 years of experience in content design, social media or a related creative role

• Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator or Canva; familiarity with basic video editing tools

• A portfolio demonstrating graphic design, typography and content creation work

• Hands-on experience shooting content (phone or camera) for social or campaign use

• Strong written English, with an ability to write in a warm, story-led brand voice

• An interest in textiles, craft, ethnic fashion or sustainability is a strong plus

• Willingness to travel occasionally for exhibitions, shoots or store visits
