: Community Manager Student Engagement
Department: Student Engagement, NIAT
Reports To: Senior Manager — Student Engagement
Direct Reports: Community Manager Associates (CMAs) across assigned campuses
Location: Hyderabad (Open to travel based on requirement)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Experience: 3–5 years in community management, student engagement, event operations, or campus program management, with at least 1 year leading a small team
Role Purpose The Community Manager owns the student engagement outcomes for their assigned campuses. Where the CMA is the on-ground execution backbone, the Community Manager is the planning, quality, and accountability layer — designing the engagement calendar, leading and developing a team of CMAs, ensuring every event meets NIAT's standards, and translating on-ground data into insights that shape institutional programming.
Key Responsibilities
1. Engagement Strategy & Calendar Ownership
- Design the monthly and quarterly engagement calendar across assigned campuses, aligned to NIAT's pillars: Innovation, Skill-building, Community, Wellness, Inclusion
- Balance central initiatives (CP, Innovators–Special Projects, Hackathons, Tech Workshops, placement-driven programs) with campus-specific programming
- Set participation, quality, and outcome targets for each campus and track delivery against them
2. Team Leadership & CMA Development
- Manage, coach, and develop a team of CMAs across campuses
- Run daily huddles and weekly performance review calls; set clear priorities and remove blockers
- Review CMA event plans, activity designs, and execution readiness before events go live
- Build CMA capability in event design, student relationship management, and reporting
3.
Event Quality & Execution Oversight
- Own end-to-end quality standards for all events — concept, structure, activity design, on-ground energy, and closure
- Be present at flagship and high-stakes events; conduct spot audits of regular events
- Ensure SOP compliance across pre-event, during-event, and post-event workflows
- Review photo/video output against quality standards and route approved content for usage
4. Stakeholder & Campus Relationship Management
- Act as the primary interface with campus leadership, Campus Operations (COS/PM/BOA), and facility teams
- Coordinate with the Design and Branding teams on creatives, campaign routing, and rollout approvals
- Manage escalations from CMAs, students, or campus partners and resolve them quickly
- Liaise with speakers, vendors, and student clubs for larger events
5. Reporting, Data & Insights
- Consolidate CMA weekly reports into campus-level performance reviews for the Sr. Manager and HOD
- Track attendance, registrations, campaign reach, engagement metrics, and feedback trends
- Maintain accurate data in the shared Student Engagement system and flag gaps or deviations
- Convert campus pulse data into actionable recommendations for future programming
6. Central Campaign Rollout
- Own the rollout of NIAT-wide campaigns across assigned campuses — communication plans, channel coverage (WhatsApp, notice boards, class reps), and visibility targets
- Verify that campaigns land on time and reach intended student segments
- Report campaign status (reviewed approved scheduled live) up the chain
7. Culture & Qualified Standards
- Model professionalism, ownership, and student-first thinking for the CMA team
- Ensure the team operates independently, meets deadlines, and represents NIAT with integrity
Key Stakeholders
- Internal: Sr. Manager, HOD, CMA team, Design Team, Branding Team, Initiative heads
- External: Campus leadership, Campus Operations (COS/PM/BOA), Facility Teams, Speakers, Vendors, Student Clubs
- Students: Student leaders, class representatives, volunteer networks, and the wider student community
What Success Looks Like
- Engagement calendar delivered on time with strong participation across all assigned campuses
- CMAs performing independently with minimal escalation and consistent report quality
- Zero missed central campaign rollouts; SOP compliance across events
- Campus leadership and students view Student Engagement as responsive, high-quality, and student-centric
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Proven experience running events or community programs end-to-end, ideally in an education or campus setting
- Comfortable managing people remotely across multiple locations
- Strong operational discipline — checklists, trackers, reporting hygiene
- Creative instinct for activity and experience design, paired with data-driven decision-making
- Excellent communication in English (regional language skills a plus for campus coordination)
