Role Description The Commi-I (Indian Cuisine) is a full-time, on-site role based in Reasi, responsible for preparing and cooking Indian dishes in accordance with hotel standards and recipes. This role involves assisting senior chefs in daily kitchen operations, including mise en place, food preparation, and timely service during breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The Commi-I ensures that all food items are cooked and presented consistently, follows portion control, and supports menu execution for both à la carte and buffet service.

Day-to-day tasks include maintaining high hygiene standards, organizing the workstation, proper storage of ingredients, and adhering to safety and sanitation guidelines.



The role also requires effective communication with kitchen and service teams, supporting inventory control, and contributing to a positive, collaborative work environment.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong Food Preparation and Cooking skills, with hands-on experience in Indian cuisine.
- Candidates should possess solid Culinary Skills, including knowledge of Indian spices, techniques, and presentation standards.
- Candidates should possess a strong understanding of Hygiene practices, including food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness in the kitchen.
- Candidates should possess effective Communication skills for coordinating with kitchen colleagues and front-of-house teams.
- Basic culinary education or certification from a recognized hospitality or culinary institute is preferred.
- Prior experience in hotel or restaurant kitchens, especially in Indian cuisine, is an advantage.
- Ability to work shifts, weekends, and holidays, and to perform in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Commitment to guest satisfaction, attention to detail, and willingness to learn and follow standard operating procedures.
