We are looking for an experienced CNC Turning Programmer Cum Operator capable of independently handling programming, machine setup, tooling, prove-out, machining and inspection of precision and heavy engineering components.
The candidate should have strong hands-on experience in machining large-diameter and long components, including shafts, eccentric shafts, bearing housings, rings, bushes, sleeves and other critical components.

## Key Responsibilities
### 1. CNC Programming
- Develop CNC turning programs independently using G-code and M-code.
- Prepare programs directly from engineering drawings.
- Modify and optimize existing CNC programs.
- Select appropriate machining sequences and cutting parameters.
- Optimize tool paths to reduce cycle time and tool consumption.
- Use canned cycles for roughing, finishing, threading, drilling, boring, grooving, etc.
- Troubleshoot program-related machining problems.
- Knowledge of Fanuc / Siemens / Mitsubishi controls preferred.
### 2. Machine Setup
- Independently set up CNC turning machines for new jobs.
- Select suitable cutting tools, inserts, holders and boring bars.
- Set tool offsets and work offsets.
- Perform component alignment and centering.
- Set up steady rests, hydraulic/4-jaw chucks and other work-holding arrangements.
- Check component runout before machining.
- Carry out program prove-out and first-piece approval.
### 3. Heavy & Precision Component Machining The candidate should be capable of machining components such as:
- Main shafts
- Eccentric shafts
- Crusher shafts
- Bearing housings
- Sleeves
- Bushes
- Rings
- Spacers
- Bearing components
- Counterweight-related components
- Heavy engineering housings
- Mining and crushing equipment components
Experience with large-diameter and long-length components will be highly preferred.

## 4. Drawing & Technical Knowledge
Candidate must be able to:
- Read and understand engineering drawings.
- Interpret dimensional tolerances.
- Understand GD&T;.
- Understand surface-finish requirements such as Ra 0.8, 1.6, 3.2, etc.
- Understand fits and tolerances such as H7, h6, g6, etc.
- Identify critical dimensions and machining requirements.
- Calculate machining allowances and appropriate finishing allowances.

## 5. Tooling & Cutting Parameters
- Select appropriate carbide inserts and tooling.
- Determine cutting speed, feed and depth of cut.
- Optimize roughing and finishing parameters.
- Select tools based on material such as:
- EN8
- EN19
- EN24
- SAE 4140
- C45
- Cast iron
- Stainless steel
- Other engineering materials
- Monitor tool wear and replace tools when required.
- Minimize tool breakage and unnecessary tool consumption.

## 6. Inspection & Quality The candidate should independently carry out first-off and in-process inspection using:
- Vernier caliper
- Outside micrometer
- Inside micrometer
- Bore gauge
- Height gauge
- Dial indicator
- Thread gauges
- Vernier height gauge
- Other precision measuring instruments
Responsibilities include
- Verify critical dimensions during machining.
- Maintain required dimensional accuracy.
- Ensure required surface finish.
- Identify dimensional deviations.
- Make appropriate tool-offset corrections.
- Prevent rejection and rework.

- Achieve daily/monthly production targets.
- Maintain required quality standards.
- Optimize machine utilization.
- Reduce machining cycle time.
- Minimize setup time.
- Monitor tool life.
- Maintain production and inspection records.
- Ensure proper identification and traceability of components.
- Maintain machine cleanliness and basic machine condition.
- Follow 5S, safety and shop-floor procedures.

# Heavy Machining Experience Preferred
Preference will be given to candidates who have worked on machines capable of machining:
Large diameter: approximately •500–•1,500+ mm
Long components: approximately 1,500–3,000+ mm
Experience with heavy-duty chucking, steady-rest support, component balancing and safe handling of heavy components will be an advantage.
