Lead – Clinical Governance, Medical Affairs & Quality

Location: Bangalore

Reporting To: CEO

Function: Clinical Governance, Medical Affairs & Quality

Role Purpose

Serve as the senior owner of clinical governance, medical affairs, quality, patient safety, physician engagement, accreditation readiness, and clinical compliance across Lord’s Renal’s India and international operations.

The role will provide strategic clinical leadership, establish governance standards, drive clinical quality improvement, strengthen physician governance, and ensure consistent delivery of safe, evidence-based and compliant patient care across the network.

Key Responsibilities

1. Clinical Governance

- Establish and lead the clinical governance framework across all centres.
- Develop, review and implement clinical policies, SOPs, protocols and governance standards.
- Establish mechanisms to monitor adherence to clinical protocols and standards.
- Chair clinical governance and quality review meetings.
- Drive clinical standardisation and evidence-based practices across centres.
- Identify and escalate significant clinical governance and patient-safety risks to the CEO.
- Provide governance oversight to centre-level clinical committees and clinical leadership.

2. Medical Affairs & Physician Governance

- Lead nephrologist engagement and physician relationship management.
- Own physician credentialing, privileging and governance processes.
- Coordinate Medical Advisory Board activities and ensure effective follow-up of recommendations.
- Support physician recruitment, onboarding and clinical performance reviews.
- Establish mechanisms for physician engagement, accountability and continuous career development.
- Partner with clinical leaders to address physician-related quality and compliance concerns.

3. Quality & Patient Safety

- Own clinical quality KPIs and patient-safety outcomes across the network.
- Monitor key dialysis and clinical indicators, including:

- Kt/V

- URR

- Infection rates

- Vascular access outcomes
- Hospitalisation and adverse-event trends

- Patient safety indicators
- Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA), CAPA and quality-improvement initiatives.
- Review clinical incidents, adverse events and recurring quality gaps.
- Drive corrective and preventive actions and monitor timely closure.
- Establish a culture of continuous clinical quality improvement and patient safety.

4.



Accreditation & Regulatory Compliance

- Own NABH readiness and future JCI accreditation programmes.
- Lead accreditation planning, gap assessments and readiness reviews.
- Coordinate internal and external audits, inspections and regulatory assessments.
- Ensure compliance with applicable healthcare regulations, clinical standards and medico-legal requirements.
- Maintain oversight of accreditation evidence, audit findings and CAPA closure.
- Ensure centres remain continuously prepared for regulatory and accreditation inspections.

5. RenalOS & Command Center

- Own clinical quality dashboards and analytics through RenalOS.
- Define clinical KPIs, reporting structures and performance-monitoring frameworks.
- Use clinical data and analytics to identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities.
- Provide clinical governance oversight for RPM and Command Center operations.
- Ensure digital clinical monitoring supports timely escalation and patient-safety interventions.

6. Strategic Growth & Clinical Initiatives

- Provide clinical governance support for PPP projects, acquisitions, partnerships and international expansion.
- Conduct clinical due diligence and operational readiness assessments for new centres and strategic initiatives.
- Evaluate clinical risks, resource requirements and quality-readiness of recent projects.
- Support development of scalable clinical governance models for network expansion.
- Partner with senior leadership on strategic healthcare and clinical initiatives.

7. Leadership & Performance Management

- Establish annual clinical governance, quality and patient-safety priorities.
- Set measurable objectives and performance expectations for clinical quality teams.
- Review network-level clinical performance and initiate improvement plans where required.
- Build a culture of accountability, transparency and continuous improvement.
- Mentor and develop clinical governance and quality professionals.

Decision-Making & Authority

- Authority to establish and implement clinical governance standards across the network.




- Authority to escalate critical patient-safety, clinical quality and compliance risks directly to the CEO.
- Authority to recommend corrective actions for significant clinical and governance gaps.
- Oversight of centre-level clinical governance performance and compliance.
- Accountability for closure of major clinical audit, accreditation and patient-safety findings.

Candidate Profile

Education

- MBBS with MHA/MBA preferred.
- Additional qualifications in healthcare quality, clinical governance or healthcare administration will be an advantage.

Experience

- 8–12 years of healthcare experience.
- Strong experience in clinical quality, governance, accreditation and physician management.
- Experience in healthcare networks, hospitals, dialysis or specialty healthcare is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in leading quality-improvement and accreditation programmes.

Skills & Competencies

- Strong understanding of clinical governance and patient safety.
- Knowledge of NABH and exposure to JCI standards.
- Strong understanding of healthcare quality systems, audits, RCA and CAPA.
- Excellent physician engagement and stakeholder-management skills.
- Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making ability.
- Ability to lead cross-functional and multi-centre initiatives.
- Strong communication, presentation and leadership skills.
- Ability to work strategically with the CEO and senior leadership team.

Role Success Success in this role will be measured by the establishment of a consistent, measurable and sustainable clinical governance system across Lord’s Renal, improved clinical quality and patient-safety outcomes, strong physician governance, continuous accreditation readiness, and effective use of clinical data to drive strategic decisions.

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹85,617.37 per month
