Role Description The Civil Engineer will work on-site in Goa, India in a full-time capacity, supporting the design, planning, and execution of infrastructure and development projects aligned with Pragyan’s impact-focused mission. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing and reviewing engineering designs, drawings, and specifications; conducting site assessments and surveys; and ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards, and safety regulations.

The Civil

Engineer will coordinate with project managers, government stakeholders, contractors, and community partners to oversee construction activities, monitor progress, and resolve technical issues in the field.



The role also involves performing quality checks, documenting project status, preparing technical reports, and contributing to cost estimates and resource planning. In addition, the Civil Engineer will support data-driven decision-making by integrating engineering insights with program design, impact evaluation, and capacity-building initiatives.

Qualifications

- Strong knowledge of civil engineering design and analysis, including structural, transportation, or water resources engineering.
- Proficiency in engineering software and tools such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar design and drafting applications.
- Experience with site supervision, construction management, and quality assurance for infrastructure or development projects.
- Understanding of relevant building codes, standards, environmental regulations, and safety practices in the Indian context.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil Engineering or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, prepare reports, and communicate clearly with diverse stakeholders, including non-technical audiences.
- Solid analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience working with government agencies, public projects, or social sector initiatives is an advantage.
- Capacity to work on-site in Goa, manage multiple tasks, and collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
