About the opportunity

We are hiring a Chief Business Officer for a profitable, funded B2B trading technology platform with strong GMV operating in the industrial materials trading space. The business has built a strong technology-led marketplace connecting buyers and sellers at significant scale and is now looking for a senior business leader to take complete ownership of the P&L; and drive the next phase of growth.

Key responsibilities

P&L; ownership & business leadership

- Own complete P&L; responsibility — top line, bottom line, and operational efficiency
- Set and drive revenue targets, margin improvement, and sustainable profitability across the business
- Define and execute the overall business strategy in close partnership with founders and leadership

Revenue growth & commercial strategy

- Drive top-line growth through customer acquisition, category expansion, and market penetration
- Identify and pursue current business opportunities, segments, and geographies
- Build and scale commercial teams across sales, account management, and business development

Operations & execution

- Oversee end-to-end operations to ensure seamless platform execution,



fulfilment, and service delivery
- Drive operational efficiency, process improvements, and scalability across business functions
- Ensure strong governance, compliance, and risk management across the business

Cross-functional leadership

- Work closely with technology, finance, supply chain, and other functions to align business priorities
- Build and lead a high-performing senior leadership team across functions
- Serve as the key interface between the business and external stakeholders — investors, partners, and clients

Ideal candidate

- 12 years of experience in business leadership roles with direct P&L; ownership
- Background in B2B platforms, trading, industrial materials or adjacent sectors preferred
- Strong commercial instincts with equal comfort across strategy, operations, and finance
- Proven ability to scale businesses in high-growth, entrepreneurial environments
- Experience working closely with founders or in founder-led organisations
- Based in or open to relocating to Pune
