About The Role The Green Economy Natural Products BioHUB (NPB-Centre) is an industry-academia interface project aimed at accelerating the development and innovation of economically viable products from living organisms.
The Business Development
Officer will play a crucial role in creating and sustaining a collaborative ecosystem that drives natural product innovation and commercialisation. This role will support the acceleration of economic growth, job creation,
and economic sustainability in line with NPB-Centre goals. The post holder will work closely with academic staff, skilled services teams, and external partners to unlock the industrial potential of eukaryotic microbes, particularly fungi and algae, facilitating their transition from discovery to market.
In addition to fostering business growth, the Business Development Officer will provide strategic advice and support to start-ups, spin-outs, spin-ins, and existing businesses within the NB-Centre, with a strong emphasis on sustainability and innovation.
This role is critical in driving the commercialisation of research outputs from the NPB-Centre, ensuring that the University maximises the impact and value of its intellectual property assets while supporting the development of sustainable, innovative business ventures that contribute to regional, national, and global economic growth.

Welsh Language Skills The Welsh language level required for this role is Level 1 - A little. The role holder will be able to pronounce Welsh words, answer the phone in Welsh (good morning/afternoon) and use very basic everyday words and phrases (thank you, please etc.). Level 1 can be reached by completing a 1 hour course.
