Role Description:

Role: Business Data Analyst
Experience: 2 – 4 years
Qualification: Graduate / Postgraduate The GECS-Mumbai desk is a Front Office extension of the Global Equities COO functions, supporting regional offices in the US, Europe and Asia. The desk focuses on improving and managing the firm’s Equity business by helping develop various Equities processes and initiatives.
Commission
Management analysts within this team are also responsible for accurately calculating and processing commission payments for clients and brokers. We are looking for an individual with a technical/analytical background who wants to pursue a career in finance and global markets client management.
Role & Responsibilities
- Reconcile client trading activity to calculate and agree commission payments, coordinating timely settlement with clients and brokers.
- Liaise with COO teams, Sales traders, Senior Management, Legal,
Client Onboarding and Payments teams to manage CSA / RCCA / IB documentation signoffs, set up and maintain reconciliation processes and support ad-hoc CSA-related tasks.
- Manage the end-to-end Cash Equity vote process — analyzing and entering client results into the firm's internal vote management system and driving its ongoing enhancement through cross-functional improvements.
- Own the preparation and timely delivery of management packs, scorecards and performance reports across desks and regions for the global COO desk.
- Collaborate with the Equities Cash & Advisory business to identify gaps in client management reporting and develop metrics that support strategic business decisions.
- Drive improvements in data collection, reporting workflows and MIS production to support better decision-making across the business
Key Skills
- Strong understanding of Global Equities, client management, capital markets, and MIS reporting; prior experience in business management, strategy, consulting or finance preferred.
- Advanced Excel skills, including VBA macros, data mining and operational/reporting-based spreadsheet management.
- Strong database and analytics capability; SQL is essential, with Python, Power BI, Tableau, and MS Access considered advantageous.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail, particularly for commission calculations,
payments, and performance metrics.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage confidently with Sales desk heads, senior management, and regional stakeholders.
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities independently under pressure and within tight deadlines.
- Team-oriented and proactive team player with a solutions-oriented mindset.
